Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Maybe not.

But one way or another we need to show a tidy profit on him. If that profit includes the value of a new player as part of the deal, then Barnsley are entitled to their agreed cut.

If we welch on that, then good luck with any future business from lower/foreign leagues.

....I suspect we can't Welch on the % owed. I also suspect there has been a lot of discussion with City on who pays the monies. I'm sure Barnsley will rightly get their cut but some/all of it might be paid by City.

Mate. The way things are going I'll be buying into Everton Football Club.

But thats another matter.

Think you need to calm it down as well. Expectations are far far too high.

Its just not sustainable. We want year in year out sustainable growth as a club on all fronts.

Its crazy to expect us to go out and spend £100's of millions in one summer.

Be realistic.

We need to be moving forward and upwards. It needs to be seen to be happening.

That way come next summer we are simply adding onto what has been added this summer.

Long term as well as short.

Sorry mate but your posts make me irrationally angry. Cant quite put a finger on why.

I must say that the building slowly but surely method is foolproof, absolutely foolproof! The fact that it has got us absolutely nowhere over the past 20 years is irrelevant, as eventual success is guaranteed, absolutely guaranteed!

I'm not saying spend NOTHING.

I'm saying wait. Be patient. Its the quality of who we sign that is absolutely important.

The way the transfer market is this year we will have to spend big to get the minimum that we need in though. I think we need a GK, CB, CM, LW and CF at least. If they're going yo be decent then we'll need to spend a lot of money.

First things first. Get major signing one and two sorted.

Take it step wise.

Again. I am not saying spend nothing. I'm saying patience. But don't expect to buy 11 players in one summer.

I am being realistic, ive seen the figures and we can easily spend big this Summer.

If I wasnt being realistic I would say we can spend big every year, but the reality is that we have 1 big spurge and we will do it this summer.

It doesnt make any sense spreading it out, not when the plan is to build a new stadium and improve the cashflow, which will pay for future signings.

As I say, we will spend big this Summer, then take it easy for a bit.

My expectations will remain high right up until September, thats when I will judge this window.

You appear to be lowering yours, which is sad to see Damo, reach for the stars, dont settle for 2nd best.

If you stand still in this league then you end up going backwards. We still have the same team as three years ago, minus a first choice goalkeeper.

Mate. I'm hard nosed. I must be to come on this forum all the time.

I've never lowed my expectations.

I simply know that to get from A to B is not necessarily a straight line in this business.

I'm expecting signings. But I want SUCCESSFUL signings. Simple as.

Anyway. I've hogged this thread enough. Off to watch the match.

Relax mate. Its coming. Signings wise.

Mate. Its a balance.

You cannot throw a team together having spent £100 million and then expect them to simply perform. Spurs tried it. Failed. Liverpool have tried it about 26 times. Failed.

Its a balance.

You also need a fluid strategy. You don't put all your eggs in one basket if circumstances are changing around you.

Moshiri is a proper businessman. He knows this.

Seriously. You may think spending massive this summer makes sense. I've always said it might be better to spread it out a little more.

I won't change my mind on this. Since I use these same strategies and fluidity in my own businesses and it works. :coffee:

I´m one of the poor sods who thought that we´d go out guns blazing and that the flood gates would open as soon as Koeman was appointed. So I´m disappointed but I only have my self to blame.

I do think the club is in very, very good hands under Moshiri. I love the man for bringing us back from the last 20 years of torpor. And I still think we´ll sign players this window although I believe that it´ll be of similar number and cost to those brought in by say Stoke and West Ham, clubs that are sadly our competitors at the moment.
