It's all down to City meeting our valuation mate. If they don't meet it he's not going anywhere. I think this will go to the wire, right to the end of the window

How does this play out with regards stcc?
I've always assumed it's end of year accounts that determine final wage outgoings.
Please reassure me we don't have to do keep within limits on an ongoing basis?

Would love to see him under Koeman personally, but hope it doesnt hinder our chances of getting our big targets only for him to go in the last few days.

You are correct mate, it's the end of year figure that's important - so we could deal in the winter window if there was an issue and trading players for profit was the only solution.

I don't think Moshiri will allow a situation for us to be entirely hemmed in by it all though.

Player incomings regardless. All this means is the scale of player incomings. Or no.

Rather than sell-to-buy in the traditional sense of the past era.

He's too clever for STCC and FFP to entirely hem him in.

This is probably part of City's thinking also, and they're probably thinking we're under time pressure - I think we'll do what we can do regardless of the Stone's situation. His value can only increase closer to the window close if City really want him.

That would be naive of them: the length of Stones' contract means we are not under pressure and we have 2 transfer windows to deal with it (in STCC terms). Hopefully we can sign central defenders in any case, irrespective of Stones' individual situation. Koubilaly would be perfect...

It was mentioned here Pogba deal will set a chain reaction.. I would add Stones to that too. Think his move would start a move of defenders. Don't know why but I feel if Stones stays we might not sign a defender...

bit of a catch22, so if we go out and buy the 3 the esk says, as well as gueye, that's £70m we've spent with no outgoings, city will see that and think we'll have to sell somewhere down the line and think they can get away with a lower fee nearer the end of the window.

I'm also thinking not selling stones may mean we won't be able to afford 3 possibly 4 targets, which kind of makes me want to sell him.

We can sign who we want, stop focusing on FFP STC PFTPEL and other stupid things.

Everton are gonna buy EVERYBODY.

We can afford a load of players. What we cannot do is pay them all high wages unless we show a profit on our non-tv revenues (which, in the short term, means selling a player at a big profit). Them's are the Prem rules!

@The Esk Sorry to bug you again, but you are the goto person on here for this sort of matter. I understand the stadium and Architecture going forward etc, but with regards the wages and how they affect our ability to sign players.... I've highlighted the points that maybe you can clarify?

Basically, if we don't sell Stones, can we (Moshiri) be more 'creative' with the way we conduct our business i.e 3rd party companies paying wages to players, stadium 'redevelopment' allowing naming rights and the inherent increased commercial income, that sort of stuff?
