Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I am not fuming. If a Witsel or Mata come it will be later in the window. We do need a new keeper and back up striker urgently though.

It really isn't. Go look.

It's because we think we are going to sign those three particular players and they think the idea is ludicrous.

I really believed it and got so excited when an administrator on here told us one or more of these deals were 'wrapped up' several weeks ago. That now looks like utter nonsense and it's gutting.

Lad - chill out...relax, wait for your balls to drop and grow some pubes FFS!

Being an Evertonian for almost 40 years the last 25 odd of those have been heartbreaking, with the odd exception. That includes plenty of helpings of incompetence, mediocrity, standing still and going backwards from Everton, and getting excited at the signing of Segundo Castillo, such are the scraps we have lived off in that time.

There is a large element in how I view the Moshiri takeover / this transfer window in that I want, desperately want, to believe that things are on the up. And by and large, subject to the odd wobble, I do believe that.

That's not to say I take ITK postings completely at face value and don't apply my own judgement but I do accept information that is posted in good faith by people who quite frankly don't have to bother sharing with us.

I am concerned, yes, but that concern isn't going to result in Everton making signings to placate me and the esteemed members of this community.

If Koeman and Walsh are worried, then that would be serious. They are not going to share their thoughts with us obviously.

I would never negate the concern and anxiety of another blue - all of us just want what's best for Everton, and to see honour restored, and that we can take our rightful place competing for silverware, season in, season out.

I want signings NOW but I am prepared to wait until the end of the window to draw conclusions. And that goes against the grain for me, cos I'm a miserable bugger.

If I feel let down at that point, then my fume will be as great as everyone elses.

Do you need a hug? You sound like you let a lot get to you that you take everything so seriously and every little thing bothers you. You know that's not good for the soul. You should relax man.

Nobody lied to you and who cares what other people on other forums say.

You had a point. I see and your point is that I should look at all the other clubs and not my own and take comfort by that and that our opponents are displaced somewhere around the world.

I have noticed the recent spate of "comfort posts" to neutralise the concern showed by the fan base wrt to our transfer window status and the imminent start of the new season.

I choose to live in the real world based on facts....still time for the club to act....tick tock.

plenty of time until the window shuts mate. just under 5 weeks, in fact.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have liked to see more activity by now, we all would, but i'm not massively concerned just yet as I'm pretty sure we'll get players (and good ones at that) in.

The issue is that our current ambition outweighs our current stature (modern football has a short memory)

I have faith that we will sign one or 2 big name players, but I suspect based on our recent lacklustre league showings and lack of European footy that attracting decent players was always going to be an uphill struggle (for this season at least)

It's a little frustrating, sure, but have patience and keep your heads on fellow blues! :D
