If we're a laughing stock on other forums it's not because of the lack of transfer activity, it's because of how our fans are reacting to the lack of transfer activity. I'm sure other fans find it hilarious to see so many of us going through meltdowns for no reason at all.

I'm sure nobody here really cares...

I love the idea of other internet whoppers laughing at us like they're any better. Do you really want us to keep up appearances for the likes of RAWK. I must have amnesia since I have no recollection of GOT being a place for sensible, well reasoned debate.

plenty of time until the window shuts mate. just under 5 weeks, in fact.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have liked to see more activity by now, we all would, but i'm not massively concerned just yet as I'm pretty sure we'll get players (and good ones at that) in.

If we get off to a poor start because we have been compromised by the club executive management teams inability to get players in early then it,s on the club.

On the other hand, if the manager can achieve results despite the shortcomings as mentioned above then who cares but I would be very surprised that the manager will take responsibility for a bad start if he could not get his players in early.

but you're acting like our squad is awful, it really isn't.

we can easily put a side out on the opening day capable of getting a result against Spurs mate.

The squad/starting XI needs improvements, but they don't have to be in by any set time as long as they're in in the end.

We could have signed four players in the next two weeks, or we may not have.

Until then it's a waiting game and enjoy pre-season FWIW.

things went quiet on Carvalho and Mata. Not bothered by Witsel one way or the other - it is these two i want.

which of the three do folks think would make a huge material difference to both our quality and posiion next season - or is it someone else who drives that change?

I really believed it and got so excited when an administrator on here told us one or more of these deals were 'wrapped up' several weeks ago. That now looks like utter nonsense and it's gutting.

Yes and as I have stated loads the squad under achieved, which is why a certain Catalan lost his job (as 'the best squad we've had in years' finished 11th)!

The squad as it stands needs reinforcements, definitely, but it is more than capable of making it through the first four games of the season!

And they would still all be laughing (a worrying masked laugh though) at us if we signed those three players mate, they would take the piss about how in their opinion they are all really crap, how much we paid, how much wages etc, etc, etc.
