Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Transfer anxiety is skewing people's decision making on here.

Its obvious.

There is NO WAY in an ordinary scenario most people would be saying to spend £10 million on a 32 year old.

Wouldn't advocate our transfer strategy to be one of continually signing 32 year old players. Can live with this as an exception though due to the fact that he is proven quality in the league and 10m in today's market is really not that much.

Yes. It is terrible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

There's a difference between being rich and stupid.

In this case of Everton, there must be.
I will politely agree to disagree.

He's proven he is a good defender, no reason he doesn't have another two good years at least.

Would you rather Everton spend £40 million+ on that Napoli lad?

What everyone seems to be missing here is the fact we have been crap for the last 2 seasons and just because we now have some money doesn't mean players are going to be queuing up to sign. There is a lot of rebuilding to do here and the fact we have signed Koeman and Walsh to do the job is very positive . Moshri clearly has plans to splash the cash and build a new stadium but it won't be done overnight .. We need first to steady the ship and see which of the players have a future at the club. That is in progress .. As a blue I feel excited for the first time in ages for the future but also am realistic enough to see this won't happen quickly ... What the club needs now is support and backing ... This is our job so let's all support !

I'm yet to be convinced.

If I were on Everton's transfer committee I would be making this point very clear.

I honestly do think many posters on here are simply thinking this is a 'good idea'

Purely so they can say we've signed someone.

Honestly this is not the way to conduct our transfer activity. :coffee:

31 days to go.

Please place all heads on shoulders and cease this.

Well that's not what I think and I am unable to read the minds of every other poster unfortunately. Maybe you can but I doubt it.

I think it would be a nice piece of business to support the major signings we do at a relatively cheap price. Hopefully these major signings happen soon but that is another argument.

.....my concern is that the season starts in 2 weeks and we could be involved in a real struggle with what we have now. Players coming in as the window closes will need to bed in and we'll be playing catch up all season.

Understood Eggs and I've seen a lot of people say this but if we sign good enough and intelligent enough players, the bedding in process, on the pitch at least, shouldn't take long at all.

So it's the 1st of August tomorrow. And apparently the tv more ey drops.....

Huhhhhmmmmmmmm

Just saying like....
Haha is this a thing now? I thought Mosh was personally funding the transfers this season, if so why would he need to wait till the telly money is paid in?

Jesus.

Anyway in today's echo Erwin Koeman has said he expects transfers this week. I wonder if his Middle Name begins with 'S'

.....I always think the first 10 games sets out the stall for the season, if we are in the bottom 6 at that point it usually means a struggle.
