Today??So with the Williams bid knocked back, can we expect anything major to happen today? Not really anyone else in the immediate pipe line is there (of course not counting our long term main targets Witsel Carvalho Koulibaly and Mata)?

So just to summarise a few key points here....this window so far
Negatives - Stones looks like he is off to City if they stump up 50m...........Lukaku is the subject of a possible 65m bid from Chelsea which he will likely force a move through for............Witsel and Koubilaly / file under fanciful.........Siguurdson knocked us back and signed a new deal as did Arnautovic and Swansea have turned us down for Williams.....Kone has been handed the number 9 shirt.
Positives - Tom Davis signed a new deal and we have brought in a probable squad player from Villa and Fulhams reserve keeper.
Not going great is it really so far? Can only get better hopefully!

Stones and Lukaku haven't left.
We were never in for Arnautovic or Siggurdsson so how you've worked out they knocked us back I don't know.
But Kone does have the number 9
You also missed out that we have a new manager, already have a number of very good players and have finally rid ourselves of Hibbert, Osman and Howard AND promoted a number of young players to first teamers.

No they haven't, but one of them is and the other is very possible. So delaying the inevitable and ignoring this is like sticking your fingers in your ears like a child and shouting "I am not listening" I guess!
Just read on another forum that Lukaku wants assurances from RK and is 50/50
Not denying any of this and I am pleased with the new manager. Just saying, as a whole, the window so far isn't that great so far and again to deny that would be churlish.

or what reality would say is the following.
We have interest in a fair few players the media have got onto, and are still pursuing those deals, but not doing so in the public arena - so a lot of speculation abounds, the players as of now have gone nowhere and have not re-sgined any new contracts, so clearly not just a bargaining move by agents to get a sweeter deal at the clubs by inventing Everton interest.
A fair amount of players have signed new contracts within a day or two of us being 'linked' in nthe media, quite clearly an agents tactic whilst already in negotiation with the current team to get a extra few quid, the deals got sorted far too quickly after we first got linked by usually a very unreliable source for it not to be this.
We have a lot of very good signs that the club has started to have the foundations for the forseeable future completeyl rebuilt, not complete yet, but very encouraging signs in a fair few backroom, porganisational moves throughout the clubs structure.
We know longer seem to be willing to be 'nice' and let players who can't contribute just see out contract extensuion after contract extension until they retire (yet out of about 7 moves showing we are being more ruthless - strangely a lot seem only to focus on the Gibson contract and ignore the rest)
Squad numbers right now mean squat really unless you don't have one, only ones that do show something is the ones who've obviously been given their choice of numbers (Barkley and Deulofeu) as that does sugest they are favoured

Why would Chelsea want 2 Belgian strikers who do the same thing on the pitch? Makes no sense other than he was a former Chelsea player. Chelsea may have wanted him but batshuayi was half the price so they bought him instead.
