Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Heads falling off all over the place again, just another monday morning on GOT. No the window hasn't been great as a fan. Im as bad as anyone for checking this place and Sky Sports News out every 30 mins to see if anything has happened but am I worried that we are not going to get anyone in and Everton are going to be relegated and the world is going to end?! Not at all.

One of the things that actually gives me hope is the way Moshiri is going about things. He is looking to put an infrastructure in place that makes us a well run business that has no fail point. He has put the director of football model in place so that we can carry on if/when Koeman leaves. He has gone out and brought in a name manager. He has sussed out that Bobby Elstone brings nothing to the table so sends him on missions to Africa where he cant do any damage and he has culled Kenwrights dealings with the club. We are not yet a well ran club but we are becoming one. We have bombed out out backroom staff who seemed to make our players hamstring akin to pepperami sticks over the past few years and the squad actually looks fit. We have also got rid of, and lets be honest here and not sentimental, a load of freeloaders who may have contributed to Everton in the distant past but have stolen a wage for at least two seasons. If you don't think that we are in a better shape than we were 12 months ago when this was being held up as the best squad of players since the 80's you are quite frankly mental.

We will bring players in. Personally think we are going to see Bony and Williams come in this week and Stones go. I cant see Lukaku going but do think we may still take Begovic even though he isn't my choice of keeper. I may be in the minority but I do think we will get Mata too and if we end the window with a decent keeper, one of the best centre halfs in the prem over the last few years, the coveted 10 and a backup striker who scored 35 in 70 at swansea I think that is a solid start for the revolution. We do need to still get a few hidden gems in too and Im sure Walsh is looking at that but we also have a particularly talented pool of youngsters who Unsworth said that there are half a dozen ready to play premiership first team football.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum has not been the Everton way for some time but at least now but I honestly believe that Moshiri knows what he needs to do to make us successful and will do it. He doesn't have the mega money of a sheikh but has proved himself to be a shrewd businessman and if he didnt see something in Everton he wouldn't have put his money where his mouth is. I would have preferred the business to all have been done at the start of the window but I imagine lots of our deals are being held up by other teams wanting replacements for the players we have targeted. I don't see 8 teams better than us as it stands, a couple more and we are on the champions league/europa precipice where we become an entirely different marketing proposition to other players. I think the Everton landscape is going to change very quickly over the next two years and feel free to vault me on this but we will have broken ground on a new stadium and be challenging for champions league places in that timeframe.

And when Bagpuss went to sleep, all his friend went to sleep too..

And I always thought you give them a chance before deducting that, seeing as that theory works great withy ANY foreign player that hasn't played in the Prem.

Why would we sign Messi, never played in the Prem, could be championship level.

You miss understand .... He was saying we have signed championship players... I would take that as championship level players... Which I don't know if they are , because I have never seen them play

Interesting if true. That would leave us with BMI, Williams, Jags and Funes Mori as first team CBs, Galloway Browning Holgate and Pennington as cover across any of the positions.

I honestly don't know why Evertonians are knocking a manager and management team who are putting together a squad for the here and now rather than treating Goodison as a development school for the top clubs. For the first time in a long time we'll have strength in depth, experience, power, and personality at centreback with the players to switch between 2 or 3 at the back and cover for injuries.

Get a good keeper behind them and this will be a great platform to build on.

I'm positive we don't have anything like the sort of funds being mooted earlier in the window. Moving from Koulibaly to Williams / Martins-Indi is indicative of this. If Stones goes straight after, I would also suggest we're having to sell to buy.

Think everyone has to realize by how this window has gone that we need to get some solid adds in that pushes us further up the table to build the appeal. Back to back 11th finishes doesn't give any top players confidence and I can't blame them. Get williams BMI and Mata in here and I think we could see 4-6 places higher up the table.

That 100% rules out any chance of koulibaly as well I would deduce, overall mate we will be sat with a negative net spend before the first game of the season with the only statement signing being the one leaving the club in stones, at that point, really doesn't in my opinion set a very good signal to any targets sitting making a decision about us really.

Martin's indi, according to everyone I know whose seen him is utterly terrible as well, very worrying we went from trying for koulibaly one of the most touted cbs around to settling for a player Porto fans can't wait to get shut off.
Maybe Koeman just wants a non-nonsense defence - which Williams and Indi would provide - and then to bolster the midfield with more quality. Would make sense. Hopefully we can get a playmaker in, and a new goalkeeper and a second striker.

90/100m - Indi, Williams, keeper, striker, midfielder in
50m - Stones out (ignoring the deadwood Niasse, McGeady who will go)

Works for me. Still feeling very underwhelmed like, so agree with you on that.

Exactly. ..and if we really bring these two in our defence line looks very strong...even if Stones go
