1) make a BIG signing to appease everyone
2) catch up with the signings we should have been making to improve the squad.
Really think there will be a lot of unhappy people if we don't go out and spend as much money as we possibly can now.

The funny thing is, goalkeeper is the one area where there hasn't been any real strong links with anyone.

i'm starting to think people just want 'names' instead of players who are very solid and more importantly the manager knows he can make a successful team with.
Williams is extremely solid, one of the best CB's in the league, yes he is older but not ancient, him at the back and helping out the younger players like holgate etc coming through will be fantastic. And with him in defense we will concede less goals, fact.
Most of the times successful teams are built on solid foundations with exciting flair to come along with it, we already have some very exciting attacking talent, mirallas, deulofeu, lukaku. And even Bolaise, although inconsistent can be a match winner. We are right now doing a hard job of getting us out of the reverse gear martinez had us in, and getting back into European places, and THEN we will move on. It's a process not a instant transformation.
Our transfers have taken longer than expected, but.. well it was kind of to be expected we've had two very poor seasons, and yes things are changing but people and players want proof, right now we're making promises and offering good money, which is why the higher standard of players are interested but also keeping an eye out for ready made champions league.
Just show some trust in the manager, show some trust in the recruitment. They do know what they are doing.

Seems an odd time to sell Stones we must be confident on Kone and Willliams.I don't fancy Bolaise would rather a midfield playmaker or striker.

I personally rate Jags, Funes Mori and Stones more highly. Then you've got Fonte, Kompany, Vertonghen, Alderwiereld, Van Dijk, Koscielny, Morgan, Smalling to name a few. Oh, and most of them aren't close to drawing their pension. Even if he is top 10, he's a stop gap and replacing a 23 year old international with a guy who has maybe 3 years leftat the top level and who has only looked decent for 3 seasons is not progress, it's surrender.
6 goals and 6 assists in all comps last year [he missed two months with a calf muscle]
4 goals and 11 assists in all compes (though all were in PL) season before
There's obviously better options, and anything over £20mil is ludicrous (£20m is pushing it as it is) but he definitely isn't complete tosh IMO...
Again, not convinced it'll happen though
