Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Given how the fanbase has reacted to the club not actually saying anything so far, d'you think it would be smart for RK to come out and say 'yeh lads, we're definitely signing six boss players' only for it not to happen?

People need to calm down. The squad is good enough to start the season, but still needs work. If that work isn't done by Sept 1st then we should be worried.
Thats the thing mate. 3 weeks to go and we are only just doing business. Right now we haven't actually spent a penny and we are pulling players from worse teams at the same time.

I'm not writing any player off for us and perspective tells me that looking at the squad there is definitely progress in building going on which is fantastic in the grand scheme of things. But even with the players we are signing, doesn't change some of the lower quality we have here that we are going to have to go forward with. Kone tight now is our only attacking g option in that squad, who the hell are we going to bring in that will make a difference considering we aren't chasing the likes of bony? Considering the positions we are lacking in , I can't see that many coming in.

But more to the point, we are still going to seriously lack in competitive places yet again. Ross, rom, Coleman, centre mids need competition and we don't have any. Combined with the need for a keeper, we are 2 centre kids down (osman and besic with Gibson clearly not an improvement) how many is that?

We currently now have a negative net spend and for all the optimism in the world, we are currently signing players from worse teams and it is only totalling the money we have recieved incoming. No extra funds, no TV money, and apparently only 2 other players to be coming in after kone and Bolasie.

Beg to differ mate

We could very well be starting with a right winger in Deulofeu playing up front alone, a 19yo cb who has never played in the league before starting at rb, one of our many right wingers shoe horned onto the left wing spot as we still haven't got a natural left winger and possibly playing a not fully fit Jagielka alongside Mori at cb, on top of continuing to play two defensive midfielders again at home with Barkley isolated once again.

All very real possibilites, do you really think that is good enough to start the season mate?

It happens to a lot of clubs. I think all those players are good enough to step up though.

Do I personally think it's a great situation to be in, no I don't.

But fgs, I can't stand the absolute melting that goes on on here on an hourly basis.

Until the hammering on Saturday, let's go into it with a bit of optimism ey?

Not so long ago this very squad (bar one player now sold) was touted as the best we'd had in 20 years, and that the manager was the root of the issue.

That manager has now gone, so lets have some faith in his replacement.

galloway looks gone to Newcastle on loan

Browning still out i think, Jagielka likely to miss a shed load of games through knocks, Leaves us with just Williams - Mori and Holgate (who we have no idea how he will handle competitive games at this level yet), still think we need one in mate (especially as Komean will almost certainly want the option of three at the back available to him)

Especially as Holgate looks like he will end up backing up Coleman - whose already picked a knock up i just saw ffs

Galloway not going to Newcastle until Kone is sorted apparently. Next week.

I have faith that Koeman is a markedly better manager than Martinez mate, but all the positive thinking in the world does not make this squad right now good enough to start the season as you said, do you reckon Koeman is sitting there thinking it is?

Koeman said at his pressed there'll be three or four new signings. Presuming Bolasie & Kone come in that's only one or two new players.

Well, going by people responding to my post above, I would say many Evertonians couldn't care less?

In an case, onwards and upwards.
