Everton Transfer Thread 2016

If we had the money and we were waiting on Stones due to STCC would it not have been wise to accept a lower offer or to compromise and accept someone like Bony as part payment.

It looks to me we held out for as much as we could get no matter what the consequences which tells it's own story.

Wouldn't you say though if they were doing that there was a reason for it? If they need the profit made on Stones to be enough to start paying the wages that attract the level of player 1 maybe 2 steps above where we've previously been shopping then it's worth the wait. Yes the season starts on Saturday but these projects don't happen overnight mate. Viable plans have to be put into place and just taking 30 million call it with Bony on top will harm us long term in what we are planning to do. Changes are coming, we just need a little patience pal.

Moshiri is here to build something. In the scope of what he wants to do 1 transfer window isn't going to make or break it. Just buying players isn't good enough. Every part of the club is going to grow, it takes a cool head or would end up with a massive building built on shaky foundations

I am rather chilled. Two decent players in and I like the look of the others we are after.

Calm down you all.

It is a reason if we wanted to buy top players but if we fail to buy them then we have blown our one and only chance without selling Rom or Ross to increase the wage bill drastically for the future.

The two things had to go together and unfortunately they haven't done. Personally I doubt STCC had anything to do with selling Stones. He needed to go. We needed the money to strengthen the squad.

Selling Stones for 40m would still nave netted us about 37m profit. 30m if you exclude the Barnsley cut. That's more than enough to have paid the wages for these top players. However we decided not to get the deal done early supposedly causing our disastrous window. Nah I ain't having that.

i think the two most difficult positions to recruit for would be striker and right back, both would be back ups...so how can we convince good players to come to a club not in europe and not first choice? unless we lash massive wages at them..

i wonder if koeman has decided against this and that holgate and deulofeu are adequate back ups..

Bony...already a backup.

we need a proper striker. Someone to put pressure on Rom and to push him for a starting position to play along side him too. RB maybe Holgate can cover, Davis played there a few times too.
