Or what if we go into the first gamecock the season with no recognised no 1.
Selling a potentially world class centre half and replacing with a seasoned professional, a centre mid from a relegated team and your only real quality forward out with injury and having a bit of a sulk.

Apart from that I'm very optimistic truly think we will win on Saturday.

That's the spirit! COYB

The Martinez years did produce some very good chants.

The "School of science, is on its way back" was sound as well.

Ah well.
Diamond Ross is my fave.
NEA.

I've every faith in the St End to have thought of something for Koeman, I think it maybe a few games before we hear it though, but after a few pints on Saturday and a sunny August day at Goodison, magic could easily happen.

All these heroes who think they know better than the manager and Walsh.....hez norra markeee signing lad.

Get back to FIFA
Yea at the end of the day it's clear Koeman have been brought in because this is the strategy the board want to go with. After a couple of years dreaming of competing with the big boys we are firmly back in our place.

Shhh now you utter bed wetters.

Its time for transfers.

Everton outbid West Brom in battle for striker, but offer still ‘ridiculous’

Everton have reportedly outbid West Brom in the battle to sign Islam Slimani. Portuguese newspaper A Bola says the Toffees offered €20m for the striker, surpassing the Baggies’ €15m bid.

In a very dismissive paragraph, the newspaper reveals Sporting’s reactions to both offers: Both one as the other offer were duly considered by the Lion’s management, who quickly found an adjective to describe them: ridiculous.

The newspaper says that despite rumours stating otherwise, sources from the Portuguese club haven’t confirmeda €20m bid from Swansea City.

Yesterday, Record had claimed that not only Swansea, but West Brom had also bid €20m for the striker, so it looks like the papers have different sources at the club.

But despite the different info, all the outlets agree on something: Sporting won’t let Islam Slimani go for less than €30m.

This all takes us back to the start of the summer, and similar claims about the striker’s future.
Ridiculous

Koeman is determined to keep Romelu Lukaku at Goodison despite interest from Chelsea and wants to offer the top scorer support with a new signing.

Everton have been strongly linked with Bony this summer and the Ivory Coast man was offered as a makeweight in a deal for John Stones.

But the Blues turned down the chance to sign Bony in favour of a straight cash deal with City for Stones.

“That is one of the positions where we are looking,” Koeman told the ECHO.

“It is that position and that is one of the reasons why I put Deulofeu in front at No9 to see if he can occupy that position.”

Koeman was keen to be reunited with Graziano Pelle but the Italian striker accepted a mega-money offer from the Chinese Super League.

Aye

I was looking too and many fans thought Bolasie was better than both Townsend and Zaha. Seems it just matters who you speak to.

Wouldn't put my house on it. But I'm sure they rate Zaha more.

As for Townsend, its more of a case of they won't be losing much if Bolasie goes as they got him to replace him.

There's also no proof that Witsel agreed to anything but that's not the point.
The point is why would any Champs League level player come to a mid table level club? The obvious answer is financial incentive, a substantial wage premium the same premium that RK's agent demanded. Our seeming unwillingness to offer this to player targets is not condusive with having a £100m level budget.

This is my point entirely.

Think we've been gullible to think we've got this "war chest"

So your saying we should have given Witsel an offer he couldnt refuse?

Lets say around 200k a week?

What does he have against Bony? Surely we could have done a deal with City when we sold them Stones and Bony is better than the others we are being linked with and cheaper.
