Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I know I'll probably get roasted for asking this and it has probably been done to death elsewhere on this forum, but where has the 100m figure come from? Who from the club said it? Is it exclusive to this window?

Ratcliffe.

We need to start showing the money.

I've been disappointed by our lack of movement for much of the transfer window.

I'd like to think it isn't the case, but it appears we only seem to be spending money when we get some in from sales.

Like many fans, I thought the new investment from Farhad Moshiri would prompt some big moves, but it hasn't happened. At least not yet.

Yes, I know we're playing catch-up due to the appointments of Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh.

But we need to start spending more money if we want to compete with the teams around us.

We can't sign players because of the following things.

Euro's took place this summer.

Players on holiday.

Nice terrorist attack.

John Stones sale to enable wage increase for new signing ( even though we have a time period to balance the books this needed to be done to appease the transfer God )

No director of football.

New manager.

Pogba transfer not completed.

We can only sign players when we have a total eclipse of the moon.

The goat we offered up as a sacrifice to the transfer GOD was not a virgin.

Any other excuses I'm missing?

Ratcliffe.

While I agree with the general sentiment (apart from sell to buy, as we seem very likely to spend much more than we have just got for Stones should the deals for Kone and Bolasie go through), I can't help but thinking what a massive tit Ratcliffe is.

Club legend, and I love him for what he did for the club and how good he was - even though I personally never got to see it - but whereas Reid, Southall - heck, even Sharpy, to an extent, come across as decent blokes, Ratcliffe regularly comes across as a massive meff.

If Bolasie signs that's the end of Kevin Mirallas as a starting XI player. Shame, thought he would have a big impact this season but tbf he hasn't turned it on for more than one game at a time since joining the club. Maybe this could be a boot up the arse he needs, but we'll see. I guess more competition is only a good thing. I'm slowing coming round to the idea of Bolasie, pace, power, trickery. If we can get him fit for 90 minutes he could be a really valuable asset. Still think anywhere near 25m is far too much, but if the money is there for 3/4 other players who cares ...

Always personally thought Kev was more suited to the right side.

But no it doesn't mate. Koeman regularly rotated personnel and systems at S'ton. Think he's planning on doing the same here.

Kenright failed to pay the phone bill

The fax machine was knicked

Internet hasn't reached Liverpool

We've absolutely failed again so far in this transfer window.

Can't believe we're starting the season without adding a top quality keeper.

No cover for Lukaku or Coleman.

And players only 70% fit. Who's faults that.[/QUOTE]

He said 70% physically prepared due to the fact that the previous regime paid little to no attention to actual 'fitness' work - whereas Koeman sets high standards for that.

He also said that after two PL games he feels the squad will be fully match fit.

He's not my cup of tea either mate. But the point to grasp is that he's not someone who's going to willingly drive a wedge between himself and the club if he can help it, yet he's spoken out.
