Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Never understood why being a STH holder of the team our target plays for suddenly means they're ITK. A number of people on this forum are Everton STH and don't know jack.

They are both reasonably well connected through the youth Team at Leeds. Believe what you like, I'm simply saying that it's not just Everton fans and forums like GOT that think it's done.

Not wishing ill on anyone but do those that really want Austin not fear that his knees could explode at any time and then we'd have Kone and Austin running on peg legs both a waste of their wage?

That's a risk yeah, but a £4m one for a player who could just as easily net 20 a season for the next four years.

Ah well, boat has sailed. It would have been nice though as I'd have been a lot less nervous about losing Lukaku in the summer, as at least we'd have depth, although Rom is obviously the better striker.

I would view signing Austin as more of a problem regarding Lukaku in the summer. The fact we are not in for Charlie at that price would indicate our strikers are happy. I would expect us to go for Embolo or Williams before Austin too. Martinez for all his flaws does think big when it comes to recruitment, and he might just land on the perfect formula soon.

lol

Just a load of goals.

9 this season in the Championship....against the likes of Rotherham, Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Generally misses a third of the season injured. I'd say they are very alike.....except for the exaggerated worth of Austin.

20 a season for four seasons.....Charlie Austin? I think you're getting him confused with Steve Austin. If he had that level of goals in him he'd have been snapped up by a top club....and presumably he'd be bagging double that in the Championship?

Right but with that fee he'll be on a fairly large deal I'd guess and to me I'd rather look at someone with more potential who isn't made of glass and I'd be very surprised if he scores anywhere near 15 even especially "for the next 4 years". Do you mean 20 a season for us without Rom? That's the only way I see that making any sense.

I never meant to be an exact comparison but generally kones return made his fee quite reasonable. granted he isn't that good but if you based it all on his one season then it was a fair deal.

A lot of austins rep that counts comes from one season as well. He us a good striker and may prove to be good in this league as well but signing him now is the same as us picking up kone to be fair
To be honest, I wasn't too bothered about the fee when Everton bought Kone. He was a disaster at Sevilla, but other than that he's had an OK career.

That injury has absolutely finished him, though. His lack of mobility is shocking.

10 in 16, which is more than I'd expect from Kone at that level.

Austins knees are from the same scrap yard. Even a great striker like JFH isn't selecting him too regularly.
