Everton Transfer Thread 2016

10 in 16, which is more than I'd expect from Kone at that level.

At the end of the day Premiership clubs, up until Southampton, have completely overlooked him for the last 3-4 seasons. There's a reason for that.....and it's not because he's going to bag 20 a season. But if you like him and think he would then great. All about opinions.

Pickford's looked promising for Sunderland so far. Comfortable with the ball at his feet and produced a damn fine save to deny Kane.

@evertony (can't quote what you've said properly) Austin plays enough games to cover Lukaku, and unlike Kone, is more of a penalty box player who doesn't rely on pace.

For the record, I'm not actually bothered that Everton haven't bough Austin, even though the price is good. I just take issue with the poor lad being told he's no better than a generally woeful goalscorer such as Kone.

Just an interesting sup plot for now. (His reliable source is on holiday). But Yarmolenko picked up a minor knock against Maciebo, (?) on 15th Dec and has been on a special, low impact, personal training programme, so the sort of tests a transfer medical would need are unlikely.

Dortmund interest is real, but only real recently. (As opposed to rumours I guess).

That Charlie Austin deal for Southampton is incredible. I know this is an Everton thread, but he would have done a great job for us - especially at that price - so sort of worth lamenting it.
but again what are you basing that on? his championship record?

plenty of strikers can score loads in the championship but are out of place once they step up. I'm not disagreeing with anyone that Austin isn't a good striker, course I would have liked to sign him.

But basing it on one season is highly speculative to say the least considering we have another one season wonder in the team. hindsight may say Austin is a missed opportunity so a lot of clubs, but we won't know until a few years down the line.

I want to see the bottom half of this gif.

There's been a fair bit of interest; he just keeps failing medicals.

If that's a reason why you wouldn't want him, I could certainly understand it.
