Everton Transfer Thread 2016

yet miles better than anything we've had for over a decade.

not convinced this will happen, but if we signed Hart we've drastically improved our keeper situation.

Doesn't prove me right or wrong but I think it's telling that Pep is looking to get rid of him. He doesn't rate him either.

Is an improvement on what we have but is he worth the 30+mil and ridiculous wage. Not imo.

Nah not worth that. Then again Bolasie isn't worth what we'll pay for him (though I think it's a good signing).

I think the Stek is a smart signing and has added quality back up, but it's an are we drastically need to improve in. Hart guarantees that improvement. He is a very good keeper - but his knack for a mistake every now and then means he'll never reach the 'world class' category.

Anybody thinking we can get a world class keeper is deluded though.

And before anybody starts, Leno, Horn, Rico etc. are not world class (yet).

Would be a brilliant signing, dont forget he was playing for a very negative manager.

Depay would be excellent for us...but hey ho bolassie for £25mil+....

Bolasie for £25mil+....

Bolasie for £25mil+....

Im going for a lie down.

Surely Depay and his like are much more useful than Bolasie? I know Januszaj or however you spell it is gone, but there are talented players knocking around Man U, Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham who won't get a game and either loan or sale is possible. Moyes & Martinez were clever with loans sometimes, hope that continues.

I doubt we'll be buying a GK this window - unless Robles is being shipped out that is.

Joyce, Hunter, King and a few other journos all stated that we're after another keeper following the presser for the written press yesterday mate.

Not saying it's a definite, but the rhetoric seems to be that we are after one.

Hart is brilliant, and judging him on the Euros, then you are a bad meff.

He has been and is one of the best in world football.

Also, I don't know what our GK coach is like, but Howard improved in his 30s, so did Nigel Martyn and many others too. He could be in his best years 30 - 35 years old. (Get Chris Woods back to coach him, and Nev as an advisor?)

I could be wrong about Hart but I don't think I am. A part of me hopes we sign him just so I can laugh when he's exposed for not actually being that good but I care more about us winning games than being proved right on the internet so I hope we dodge him like the plague.

Which should be a no-brainer for us to swerve. I'm over being a home for rejects of the Manchester clubs while we feed them our best players.

Can you not get to grips that to improve at the moment the most realistic targets will be quality players that have fallen out of favour with more currently successful clubs mate?

Our attempts to sign first-team regulars from CL clubs have so far failed...

Depay had 2 goals and 0 assists in almost 1500 minutes. Bolasie had a bad season but not nearly that bad. Options on those other teams are Chadli, Pedro and Nasri. Really not better than Bolasie

No mate I can't get over paying 30m for Hart, when we can pay that or less for a Butland or Forster, or in Germany where there are superior keepers.
He's not good enough. Cost England in the Euros with basic lower league mistakes. Swerve for me.

Judging from some of the press conferences of the managers in the last 2 days, the football journalists are reading forum pages, trash tabloid reports and rumour blogs to get their questions in. So many naff questions have started with 'Can you comment on 'reports' that X is leaving, Y is signing for you?'. Don't they do any real journalism and investigation? Even on apparently 'in the know' shows on TalkSport (however trash it is) and others, the experts just spew their gut feelings, and don't use any inside information, contacts or research!
So, the point is, whoever we are linked to, like Mata, Hart and Kone, for instance, seem to be just people who are available who we fancy, and who match the Walsh-Koeman type of approach and we all jump at it. If I shout loud enough about, say, Fabregas, will he become a rumour?
Anyone want to do an experiment, and 'link' someone to us, and see how long it takes to get to the Echo, or Sky Sports?
