Such a limited player,he is just power and pace and one of the most brain dead footballers i've ever seen,his spatial awareness for teammates when he has the ball is staggeringly awful,always chooses the wrong option when he should be passing instead of shooting and when their is a option to pass he dwells on the ball to long.
Very frustrating player.

I don't think benteke fits the type of player koeman wants. He is similar to how lukaku plays, but lukaku is a much better player. If we are going to get a second striker in, I'd imagine koeman to want a striker with pace to complement what we have with rom's power and the ability to press up front, something lukaku is reluctant to do.
I know but you'd be surprised at the amount who think you were.

Sadly (not purely in RE to BENTEKE of course, who I'm not fussed about either way really) I agree with you TOFF....something tells me that the MOSH words were a placating exercise more than anything else.
That said, I'm still mildly hopeful...

I agree. That is more the type of striker i could see us bring in, pretty much shane long in a nutshell, but not shane long. YOu could see it on saturday with del and kev essentially doing that role, but obviously not perfectly suited. Well kev could be that player in all honesty. If he can hold the ball up well, we don't really see that in his game.
What i don't get is all this 'not koeman's type of striker' that keeps getting banded about. For example lukaku scores 20 + goals a season and he is certainly koeman's type of striker, one that scores goals for him!

I would not pick Benteke over Bony even if they were the same price, Bony's hold up play and control is a different league to Benteke's.
And that's what we need, a Striker with good touch and feet upfront to feed others in when needed and keep our attacks going.
