Praet and Tielemens linked, I have never seen either of them play. To me though, unless we are going to get 3 or 4 midfielders out the door, like Naismith, Gibson, McGeady, Pienaar or Osman, we don't need numbers in. What we need is one quality signing, like Yarmalenko.

We seem to have had a problem in the left midfield position all season. Although going forward at the weekend we were strong on that side with Barkley and Mirrallas swapping between Left side and the Middle.

the thing with these two is that they are highly spoke of, tielmans more than praet. Now if you could sign the pair for say 10 million and develop them from there then it would be a good piece of business as they must have something about them to be rated highly.

I would wager 10 million wouldn't even buy you one of them now the hype has kicked in so unless we have been scouting them then i doubt either would be a realistic target.

I would have thought, based on Premier League interest and interest from Spain and Germany, you would be looking at £25m for the pair of them. My point is I think we would be better spending that on a player who is ready now, Like Yarmalenko, rather than 2 players with potential. Unless we are planning on clearing a load out.

i believe in both strategies, its just which one do we want more!

1. immediate effect
2. long term strategy - future cash generation through young talent and hopefully allowing Everton to compete financially (but if we keep finishing mid-table ish, can we safely say that all our young talent will be there in two years time?)

that's what i mean. I'm happy for the club to spend a few million here and there to get a Tarashaj and look to develop them but at 10 million plus i want us to be signing a player a lot closer to the first team than these belgian lads for example. Tielamans at a push i'd have anyway based on his glowing rep but then again its the price.

Couple more belgian lads may persuade rom to stick it out a little longer

Any idea how much barca would value Bartra at ?
His release clause dropped from 25m to 12m due to lack of game time, so that would be his price. Napoli and few other top teams were interested in him last year, so if Stones wants to leave, leaving for Barca now and letting us have Bartra (who's an amazing player) + that amount of money without having to fight for him would be once again a very good deal for us. Also, I personally don't think we're ever going to get an offer better than 50mil for John, but if he, for some reason, wants to stay here, then I'd obviously keep him over any other defender in the world.

Still wouldn't do any barca deal for Stones unless they void del's buybacks
