If he did then no it wouldn't.

I'm just talking in the respect of him not getting anything other than a lower team offer and finally having to play a little bit rather than coast along.

Although it is a mystery why teams keep signing him considering his record in his career has been shocking by all accounts.

I think with some players it would, yeh, but with Balotelli he'd just continue to coast.

Could you imagine any worse player to have around in a relegation scrap?

There is a great player in there.

I think the penny will drop with him when reality finally hits him that he has wasted his career. Right now his career to date has been AC milan, Inter Milan, Man city and Liverpool. No matter what he seems to bounce from club to club and still be up there in the respective leagues.

the minute he has to take a crap team offer is when he will finally stop wasting his talent and finally start earning his place in the game.

Lots of players through poor choices, injuries or a lack of mental focus throw their talent in the bin.

Francis Jeffers was one of the best predatory strikers I have seen in the game when I watched his early career with us. He was brilliant.
He moved to Arsenal and became as good as Niasse.

in a way ballotelli is the prime example of what is wrong with football.

sign good contracts as a teenager, highly sought after, more money then sense and no-one to look after him ala Ferguson at united. At some point by the time you are 21 with sponsorship deals, millions in the bank and face on the cover of magazines you let it get to your head and before you know it your career has flew by and you haven't achieved anything.
This is what stunts youth of the game now, you either keep your head down and graft or you get thrown into this world. Someone like luke shaw and Barley is a good example. shaw went for 30 million and essentially given that lifestyle whereas ross has not been given that and been allowed to develop at a sensible pace.

The fact that NOTHING he claimed to have solid info on actually happened and that EVERYTHING that has happened he had no prior knowledge of at all.

That, and my own analysis of the manner and tone of his posts over time.

It smells too much like bull. Sure he can wheel out the 'things change quickly etc' stuff. But if he was really getting genuine, close-up info you'd expect him to have predicted at least one thing correctly no?

Plus, I doubt whether someone who was in a position to get such inside info would then blabber it all over a forum.

The fact that he is given creditibiltiy by being officially associated with the site makes it an outrage to me.

Anyway, I shouldn't be talking about this. It's not allowed apparently.
Go and get your fingers wet mate, you're boring the life out of me.

disappointing we're after some crap journeyman rightback as cover for coleman

right, the definition of a 'journeyman' is somebody who has been around loads of clubs and is getting on in their career.

Martina is 26 and spent the majority of his senior career at Twente before moving to S'ton last year.

As right-back cover, it's a good addition (though in my opinion I think Holgate could do the job, it appears Koeman wants a bit more strength in there).

Mail reporting that we've made a £16mil bid for Perez.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...cas-Perez-chase-Cuco-Martina-Southampton.html

Everton have offered £16million for Deportivo La Coruna forward Lucas Perez.

The 27-year-old was a target for director of football Steve Walsh at Leicester and he has maintained interest since his move to Everton.

Sportsmail reported earlier this week that contact had been made and Everton have made their offer with Deportivo valuing their goalscorer highly.

Perez is quick and can play off the wing or as a central striker and scored 17 goals in La Liga last season.

Everton have also started talks over Southampton full-back Cuco Martina as cover for Seamus Coleman.

Martina played 15 games in the Premier League last season, scoring once, having moved to St. Mary's from Dutch side Twente.

The 26-year-old has been capped 24 times by his nation Curacoa.

think maybe Koeman will opt against spending on another CB and use Holegate there?

Yeah right! We'll be lucky to sign one more player going by the speed of our transfers this window.

Complete and utter joke it's been. I've been patient but now I am fed up. Everyone around us has strengthened considerably. We simply don't have the squad to compete for Champ League this season.
Hold off until the deadline before you give up on us. I think we could be pleasantly surprised.

if he plays a minute ahead of holgate or kenny its a disappointment for me.

I would take Balotelli on a pay-as-you-play deal but I guess he would neither want/need that. Do they even offer these type of deals anymore?

He must be very wealthy and the desire is probably just not there for him now.

Must admit though I like the thought of giving him 5 minutes, just in the derby, and him scoring a bullet into the kop, just for the look on their faces, and his reaction. God knows we would struggle to do worse against them, given our recent "efforts".
