Something strange I have noticed. The perceived ITKs on here, TEF and elsewhere, they all have said less and less ( to the point of silence) as the end of the window has approached whereas one would expect it to the be the other way around.

Probably because no one outside the club knows what's going on, shock horror.

Trust me mate I've grown up having had us win 1 trophy in my entire lifetime (I was two months old in May 95)

However, we are a big club. That really can't be debated.

We aren't a top calibre club anymore though.

Look at Villa, Forest, Leeds - big, big clubs. Crap, but big.

I wouldn't class Forest and Leeds as big clubs anymore. They have history yes, but not a big club. Do we class Preston and Huddersfield as big clubs cause they were a bit successful a while ago?

I think we are perceived as big in the UK, but not further afield, we have bigger issues there.

A player like Ghezzal won't know much if anything about us, why would he, unless he was a football nerd?

I watch all the main Euro leagues and I "know" a club like, say Hamburg (at random). But I don't know much about them if that makes sense. If I was a player good enough to have options, why would I want to leave my homeland and join them? Same applies here.

Better players want success, prestige, and money, all three combined. We can offer money but can't compete on the other levels.

MONEY is why you would leave... Might not leave England but coming to the prem is a massive pay rise in most cases

You would imagine a modern day agent to have a vast understanding of the size and stature of clubs all over the main leagues so that he can best find a good place for a player he looks after. Even if the player doesn't know a quality agent would and would sell him the move.

However i believe that Ghezzal has his Dad as his agent so perhaps not the best for finding a fit abroad. Although i imagine he looks after him fine within domestic leagues.

The last day of the window could be absolute bonkers.

Regarding the likes of Ghezzal and Witsel, I think they are looking to run their contracts down and leave on frees.
The worst sort of mercenary in the game those sorts, especially when there are very good offers of contracts on the table for them for their current clubs.

No honour left in honouring a contract anymore then?

I'm wondering if there is another football forum on the planet that would have a 4000-odd page transfer window thread.
Well done lads!!

Want to know the scary thing mate, its at 4000 pages and that is not counting all thos epages on seperate player rumours, factor all that in and scared to think how many pages we'd have had...

Tend to agree

Running down a contract and leaving on a free is not good behaviour or honourable in the slightest. Pre Bosman ruling the club would hold your registration until they got the players value or a new deal was agreed.

Sport operates very differently to other work agreements.
