Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Because he's a happy clapper for Moshiri and has been defending him all window.

His constant moving the goal posts is annoying and frankly while I don't have a major problem with Moshiri as Anyone was better than Kenwright but he should just leave people to have a moan. No more wait until the season, you'll see blah blah rubbish. It is what it is.

Have we really descended to this already?

Marca mate. Let's wait and see
Is Marca not reputable? I believed it pretty much straight away when I read it last night if I'm honest, why wouldn't I? Apparently he wanted CL, Arsenal are moaning for a striker still, it adds up. If it's rubbish, they get an A for effort.

As it seems we're struggling to get our targets over the final hurdle to actually sign, I can't help but think if the stadium talks were as far along as we think, an official announcement with location and artists projection of the finished article would certainly help our case of the new 'project' we're pushing.

Of course Stones and the TV money is covering other operating costs. What do you call paying out for Koeman and Walsh etc?

We would be no different under Kenwright. At best the debt is on better terms and we have access to funding to build a stadium but that's about it.

Moshiri is an an accountant and you can see it how he's running us. He's essentially moving money around and making the situation slightly better.

All the nonsense at the start of the window was hype by people who should have known better.

It's only hype if people who should have known better buy into it.

I'm sorry, but if any adult is taking the word of 'someone on the internet' as gospel then it's them who need their heads examining...

I'm not a happy clapper and I'm not moving goalposts.

I posted a section from an article that was shared on here - that's it.

And why people have every right to have a moan, what I don't understand is people moaning that it's been a failure of a window when it a) isn't over and b) clearly hasn't been

Nope

It was basically on every media outlet that Koman would have 100m to spend + whatever was brought in through sales

So believe the media then? The same media that have said Lukaku has been a Chelsea player all summer, or that City would get Stones for £35mil...

People are acting like it was the club who said: 'Yeh we've got 100mil'/

As I've said countless times I personally thought it all a bit too good to be true - whether it came indirectly from the club or was just idle media speculation to generate hits because fans like nice round figures to be able to build their fantasy teams with on FIFA...

We've so far, on players alone, spent approx. £5mil more than we've brought in through sales. We're also paying all our new signings higher wages than we normally would be all accounts (I'm not pretending to have inside info I'm just going off the general consensus).

The window isn't shut and Koeman last week said he was always planning on doing some business late, even though he preferred not to, because he needed time to fully assess the squad.

The delay in getting a DoF in likely didn't help matters but it is what it is and personally I felt it was always likely.

IF we had've got to this point and we'd have had Gueye and Stekelenburg in then I'd be extremely worried. As it is we've added two very good and very experienced players on top (for a combined £35mil at least) and look to be in with a distinct possibility of landing more.

This is the reason why clubs try to keep quiet regarding new shareholders, investors and such.
Before Moshiri was announced, I bet people would only dream of having a proper leader like Williams, to go out and simply take a rivals manager, to kick someones door down and throw £22m reddies at another club and walk out with one of their dangerous assets, was something we thought was close to impossible.

We started out by setting lofty ambitions, trying to acquire Mata, Witsel and maybe Koulibaly, all unsuccessful but at least we asked questions, something we haven't done in my lifetime - or at least the majority of it.

I will be the first to admit that I wasn't too happy that we paid £22m for Bolasie, Everton spending £20m seems weird to me, we scrape the barrel and I complain, we pay £22m for a player and I complain MOSHIRI OUT !!!

People saying the window is a failure need to relax a little, the window isn't over and I guarantee a few clubs will spunk millions up the wall on TDD, Jim White better leave the Viagra's alone otherwise his heart (or testicle sack) is going to explode like a terrorists back pack.
This could be the first step to a cup challenge if done properly, lets just wait and see what happens, if we don't sign Messi then I at least want us to get Zizou out of retirement, anything less will then be seen as a failure.

At least the fence will be happy not having me sitting on it !

It's not been a failure if you expected us to sell Stones and use the money to strengthen the squad. It's been a failure if you were expecting significant additional investment to allow us to push for top 4.

If we signed Carvalho, Bony, Mata as well as getting Hart and Kone which would have in total been around a net spend of 100m we would have a squad that could realistically push for top 4 so in that respect it is a failure but it just depends what you were expecting going in.
