Everton Transfer Thread 2016

It's all turning into a bit of a circus this transfer window, it's almost as if sky are telling everyone to wait for the last few days of the window to sort deals out.
I suppose they have the right to, considering it's their money everyone is spending!!!

Not anymore it's not... Optus have the EPL rights now .... Every game live ..... First time since the prem was born that Fidel ( sky) havnt had the rights internationally

So thats Wenger and also Conte saying they are having a nightmare.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte fears he could fail to bring in the defensive targets he is seeking before the transfer window closes.

The Stamford Bridge boss has made big-money signings in Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante this summer, while goalkeeper Eduardo also moved to the London club this week.

Conte feels defence is still an area he needs to strengthen but has been unable to do a deal for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli of AC Milan, with a bid for the latter being rejected.

Now he is worried he will be left short of adequate options at the back because of an inflated market and said: "I must be honest, I think we'll have a problem to reach our targets.

"I hope, through this transfer market, to improve the squad but we understand our targets are very difficult to reach.

"I think the most important thing is to work to improve the squad and improve your players. You know that when you start the season it is already very tough.

"It's important to have many players to face these situations, but this market is very crazy and we are seeing that it's very difficult to reach our targets.

I am hoping us going after Lucas was a bluff to draw Arsenal out to spend so we could swoop in and get Gabbiadini unopposed. I trust Walsh and Koeman... The season just started and I am excited to see what we can do. I think the sleeping giants of Everton are about to wake!

This has been slightly edited from Orwell's In Front Of Your Nose, but I have merely changed politics to football.

A lot will happen, or happen by not happening, over the next few days. What will it mean in December? May? We'll know then.

We'll all still be here no matter what, so remember that. I'm just officious enough to feel that this offering is timely.

Some here may wonder why you'll find absolute tosh you spewed in 2011 vaulted up and held in front of your face while you are in the process of informing the rest of us why things are boss/dire...

To those, I recommend the following. Read this until the words take meaning.

To see what is in front of one's nose needs a constant struggle. One thing that helps toward it is to keep a diary, or, at any rate, to keep some kind of record of one's opinions about important events. Otherwise, when some particularly absurd belief is exploded by events, one may simply forget that one ever held it. Football predictions are usually wrong. But even when one makes a correct one, to discover why one was right can be very illuminating. In general, one is only right when either wish or fear coincides with reality. If one recognizes this, one cannot, of course, get rid of one's subjective feelings, but one can to some extent insulate them from one's thinking and make predictions cold-bloodedly, by the book of arithmetic. In private life most people are fairly realistic. When one is making out one's weekly budget, two and two invariably make four. Football, on the other hand, is a sort of sub-atomic or non-Euclidean world where it is quite easy for the part to be greater than the whole or for two objects to be in the same place simultaneously. Hence the contradictions and absurdities I have chronicled above, all finally traceable to a secret belief that one's opinions regarding football, unlike the weekly budget, will not have to be tested against solid reality.

Genuinely think this year we'll finish top 6, if I had to make a reasonable guess I'd say 6th but 5th is a possibility too.

Then next season we make the CL, so top 4.

When Koeman says it will take two years to rebuild this team I think he means turn us into regular title challengers (and hopefully winners). Two seasons after this one Everton will firmly be a title contender, and in the next couple of years win a few too.

COME ON YOU BLUES LETS SMASH STOKE 4-0 AND SHOW THE WORLD THAT SCHOOL OF SCIENCE IS BACK!

I think Koeman made it pretty clear when he said 2 years, he means it will take him 2 years to get the players he wants. And despite the crazies on here, that makes sense. Its not so easy to just grab other teams star players on a whim, it takes multiple windows to produce enough situations and opportunities to swap out 7-8 players(which I believe is how many he wants to change out).

Jags, Williams, Baines and Barry are all getting on now to be good over 2 seasons. Also none are top quality anymore in terms of top4 level.

The players signed arent top class. Perhaps if Gueye can keep doing well but again chelsea have kante. We need to be signing players at the level of barkley, deulofeu and lukaku etc.

I thought top 8...then top 4 then consistently top 4 but we didnt pull off any signings. Im going with 10th-15th at the moment.

Not sure I'd expect to finish any lower than we did under an incompetent manager especially considering the few signings we added

If we finish worse than last season then koeman will sacked. I think top ten is probably about right.

Top 6 is probably going to be difficult so hard why I'm saying top ten

Sensible thinking this, we're not just going to be top of the table straight away.
