Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I disagree. The player agreed terms and even went as far as to have a medical. Can't do much more than what we did.

It sounds like he's been promised first team football which is the only thing we couldn't offer him.

Move earlier? Why did we drag our feet? Did Coleman's injury prompt?

Move later? Force it through deadline day.

Move quicker? It did seem to drag on. Compare our effort with Southampton's for Austin.

All up for debate, but personally think there was no benefit to going public. Keep schtum until a deal is done. We switched narrative on this one.

I seem to remember the Byram type of posts appearing when it looked like Garbutt wasn't going to sign a new contract. He's not pulling up any trees at Fulham and doubt he'd get picked ahead of Galloway if Baines was out.Lower division players have potential and nothing more than that so hopefully the money will go towards a player in a position where we really need cover.

In a bit of a bizarre way we could now look at Byrams value of £3.7mil supposedly rising to £5mil and say Garbutt should be worth more as hes got u21 caps and also prem experience + a longer term contract.

If we decide to sell in the summer of course...havinf Baines,Oviedo,Garbutt and possibly Galloway there next season is two to many for me. Hope Garbutt does well at Fulham and Galloway goes on to the next level.

Thing is, i'd expect his agent to have told us what we need to do to get him....whatever weve been told West Ham have underbid and still got him which is strange.

Why have a medical with us anyway if they had declared interest already + he must have accepted our offer to sign otherwise have a medical.

So seems all.was agreed and then hes made a sudden U turn.....which is weird.

If he's a West Ham fan, this is akin to when David Unsworth did the same but much worse to Aston Villa. Nothing we could have done.

End of the day Byram could end up as good as Stones or as poor as Kyle Naughton ...we got one, we missed one. The club can't force a player to join and we're not in the game of paying well over the odds for players, rightly so.
If he was exceptional then at 22 he would already have been snapped up is my thought

Wont be as good as stones, no big loss. Arguably we should keep mori in the team. This might work in our favour.

We have no idea as to what discussions had happened and whether what has been reported in the press is accurate. We missed out through no fault of our own. I think he'd be a good signing but we are talking about a back up right back here. Not a star Striker. It's an upgrade on browning that we've missed out on. No big deal.

Martinez always says we'll leave transfer windows stronger than entering them. I think he's been as good as his word so far on that claim.

At the moment we are one player up with the Swiss kid in for next season and none departed - yet. If Naismith goes then I expect another in at least for that Martinez boast to ring true.

Past January windows would suggest we don't leave it stronger with the departures of Jelavic, Eto'o and Heitinger with the only notable addition being McGeady. If Naismith goes I don't expect a single penny of it to be spent. Not saying it would be Bobby's fault as there is only so much he can do. Sit on the cash and spend half of it in the summer seem to be the boards way of working.

They leave, and you're telling us we haven't ended the window stronger?

barcelona = the new amsterdam. liverpool = growing capital on the

one week ago, byram was said to have preferred a move to everton.
Either we are offering nothing wages or his squad status is rotation or backup.
I dont think we should lie to players and risk upsetting the dressing room futher.
The manager has done well.

Mate I have no problem with all this FM lark but this is a step too far
