Guys I guess well I guess I just can't move on. I didn't see him play like but Bryam just seemed such a perfect fit. Can someone set up a "we really miss Bryam" thread. I would but these tears are making it hard to see the keypad. What does it all mean for the future of our once great club? If you are reading this, we miss you Bry!!
We share your pain

Probably harder for all of us because we know so little about and have hardly ever seen him play...just difficult to deal with.

after all this crap about Shane Long it's nice to see the aspirations have risen again

i don't know if it has a source or if it was somebody's dream list....but HELL YES to HULK i highly doubt we could afford him and that he wouldn't want a move to the sky 4 but that would be a greater signing than yarm imo

Everton transfers: Martinez refuses to rule out signing replacement for Steven Naismith

Roberto Martinez is refusing to rule out signing a replacement for Steven Naismith.

The Scotland forward sealed an £8.5m move to Norwich City on Tuesday after a long pursuit from the Canaries.

Martinez blocked Naismith’s move to Carrow Road on deadline day in September saying there was not sufficient time to fill the void.

Naismith scored a hat-trick in the next game against Chelsea but didn’t start a game after October 17 and was this week allowed to leave.

Martinez maintains that the January window is not the time to conduct a lot of transfer business but cannot discount the Blues completing any deals before 11pm on February 1.

“In any window, we always, always look to see if there is an opportunity to bring someone who could help,” Martinez said.

“But to bring someone for the sake of it, will never happen in our recruitment.

“Steven has been allowed to go because it is a good deal for both parties. He is a terrific professional and it has been difficult for him to get as many minutes as he would like.

“He hasn’t played enough minutes because of the options we have in the forward positions.

Steven Pienaar was back in action in the FA Cup

“We have got players coming back from injury, Steven Pienaar is taking a bigger role and that’s adding an extra number in the forward positions.

“So all in all, we have enough in the squad and that has been proved in the last six games, where Steven hasn’t been involved since the Stoke game.

“But that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that we will always try and use the window to our advantage, and we will carry on doing the same.

“But January is normally not the window when you can bring players in that can be better than what we have, which is credit to the good squad we have.

“It is not that we need to find solutions in January, but with any window we will see what we can do to help us and, in the last five windows, we have shown that’s how we work.

“Not in a panicked manner, everything is well prepared and that is why the Steven Naismith deal has been allowed to go ahead.”

Everton have already completed deals for 17-year-old defender Matty Foulds, who has gone straight into the Academy, and Swiss under-21 star Shani Tarashaj, who will join the Blues in time for next season.

But Martinez, who usually makes the bulk of his signings in the summer window, says January rarely offers value for money.

“If you think about it: why would you let someone go who has a big role to play?” Martinez said.

“Unless there is an inflated price or there is a specific situation that could suit you as a football club.

“We always need to take that into consideration.”

Code for: The Naismith money is going under Bill's mattress, and Martinez is not getting any of it.
