Everton Transfer Thread 2016

It is things like this that i don't understand about the club, like a offer of itent that never pulls through. Granted we missed out on some dodgy players in the process but only statement we ever came through on was fellaini, and even then he was panic bought, wonder if that was to make sure the money didn't vanish.......

But for the second season running you can literally say the team are doing badly, league form is poor and the club have got to jan and thought 'we don't need to change things'.

....I appreciate strong views on a replacement keeper, but I don't think our problems are related to quality of personnel (although it's always good to freshen things up).

The desperation builds. I'm just awaiting the crescendo, when someone suggests Dave Nugent or someone equivalent.

Hasn't quite happened yet but the anticipation of it is killing me.

We had Jon Walters already. Think the crescendo may have already happened!

There you go Carlos.

Some spanish paper saying we want to get the striker Caicedo from Espanyol for 10M.

I think the big indicator that it is true, is that he is currently injured which instantly makes him more attractive just like Traore two Januarys ago. He is 27, got 12 goals last year and has 8 already this season and he flopped at City.

.....I recall this was posted on here some weeks ago. If I'm right, he was at Man City but failed to make an impact. A few posters were not keen on him.

....latest rumour round-up;

Various reports we are in poll position to get £3m rated Sam Byram from Leeds, one saying Everton is the players preference.

Daily Mail suggests we are chasing goalkeeper David Ospina.

Spanish press reckon we are interested in Espanyol forward Felipe Caicedo.

Also links with Havard Nordtveit of Borussia Monchengladbach.

.........here you go, links with Caicedo from a few weeks ago.

He looked dreadful in the World Cup but I believe he had been playing out in Russia for a while had he not? Moved to Espanyol last season and I suppose he's done ok?

Obviously you're more clued onto Spanish footy, like.

I have to admit I haven´t really noticed him despite probably seeing him play live two or three times...

An Espanyol supporting friend just messaged me to say mah. I presume he means meh.

Hahah.

Yeh that's whatever I've thought when I've seen him play to be honest - which is only if I've been covering one of the big teams in a match against them.

Kind of reminds me of Mbokani who's at Norwich in that they're both big, powerful forwards with a bit of pace, but just don't ever seem to reach the standard that they could be capable of in the Prem very often.

However, if it's true and we're willing to make a bid, I think he could present a decent option as a back up forward. However, I'm not sure if he's really an improvement on Kone...
