Good stats for the last 3 seasons (36 goals in 65 apps) but what was that striker who Middlesborough brought in from Holland years ago for a large fee?

It's always a gamble, but he's 27, so for that reason i'm out.

folks on Toffeeweb backed him to be the answer to our striking issues before we signed rom.

No, they bought this guy when they were in the prem and head scored a shed load of goals in the Dutch league, black lad, that's alll I can remember about him.

Anyway, I guess any players coming into the prem these days are going to carry a high price tag as clubs across europe will want to drain the prem clubs of their lovely sky windfall.

101 Goals? whoever they are has just stated that John Mores has bought Everton, the guy from the Padres, states that Bill said his goodbyes to the stewards on Sunday, does anyone know about this and I have just noticed I have written this on the wrong thread :(

We have Lukaku up front, staying forever ir leaving whenever we can get a lot of money for him. If we want a replacement of similar quality who we know can play in the premier league then Harry Kane is the benchmark....so of course not happening.

We can then either sign someone playing in another league whose 27 and at their peak with no resale value who is in one of the top two sides scoring goals for fun against smaller clubs AND internationally scored against tiny countries

OR

We go for someone who can reach the same level as Lukaku (hopefully) and maybe even surpass it for a similar price.

This chap or Breel Embolo for example.

With Rom as starter we can bring in Embolo gradually giving him time to adapt and have serious competition for lukaku whilst also giving him a rest as well.

@bluestevon we need a player like Yarmolenko of course but also need top quality to compete with Lukaku. The age is important as well as we see with Lukaku £28mil becomes £60+mil.....Embolo could be £20+ mil but also rise due to age and potential....need this conveyor belt to be able to compete with teams spending hundreds of millions on proven talent.
