Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Well, @roydo has put enough info on here to show that we definitely have a strong interest in him (at least) and he has been quoted as saying he would rather join Everton than Barca -- match this to Niasse signing rather than a more 'traditional' left sided player and Martinez saying Yarmolenko is "the best player of his generation" and the TV revenues + investment and i think we will at least have a good go for him.

@chazzle_dazzle agree 100%. Whatever cash we have should go on 3 key players,GK CM and a LM/LW unless Niasse is truly going to be on the left in which case a FW to compete with Lukaku and not just be backup.

Am taking Niasse as Kone Mk2 - not in skill set as i can't comment on that as i haven't seen enough of him to base an opinion, in terms of positioning. Striker that can play out on the left if need be. So he is to push Lukaku (in my opinion).

Martinez seems to like the inside wingers out on one of the sides, someone to cut in and create.

Its been a year mate. We aren't signing him! same way as riquelme / banaga/mouthino arent signing for us despite the rumours.

Yes we were interested, yes we went after him, probably even did last month as well. But Naisse signing pretty much proves we aren't getting him. highly doubt we would buy Naisse on;y to drop him a few months later in any grand scheme of the managers plan, especially for 13 million.

but FF time, Rooney / Butland would fill two roles straight away. make statments in the price of them as well. and english. so perfect. Ramsey if arsenal would be tempted to lowball an offer to us, which i doubt.

Think thats where other clubs have massively fell down when they have received large transfer fee's for players and had too much money and didn't know what to do with it.

If we had X amount after sorting contracts etc, i would happily spend on a top class goalie, a top class centre mid, and a top class replacement for Pienaar.

The rest would be a bonus, but i would rather split the money on them positions and spend proper money on them.

Just had a debate (or of much as a reasoned one you can have with a kopite) about this on twitter.

My point is that they are stuck in 'moneyball'.

There only answer for any issue is 'sign more players, sack the manager, sign more players' etc etc.

All that results in is mass influxes of players every summer window and that means they take time to gel. It's a fact.

Spurs tried it and swiftly realised that it had backfired, so, when Poch came in, he has helped set a structure in place that concentrates on buying in/developing young talent and setting a style of play in place. Same with Sotton who have now done that for 10 years but operate on a model of producing then selling.

Hoepfully, our investment can now take us down the route of Spurs in a sense, but also give us the ability to make a £30mil signing without having to worry about where the money has come from.

It's the only real route for success in the long term.

Hmm I'm not so sure mate.

Pretty sure Kev will leave in the summer. That, whatever, opens up a spot. Niasse is a player who is primarily a front man who can play wide. I've got a feeling that Yarmolenko may still be on our shopping list - though whether we get him is obviously far from certain.

I said it at the time to my RS mate, when they sold Suarez they shouldn't have bought 10 £10 million quid players (not that that happened but you get my point), they should have bought 2 £50million players. Massive difference in that. Same with spurs, the amount of money they have spunked to get to this position they are in now is ridiculous, and it unsettles teams bringing in that many players.

If we have (i have no idea how much but lets for argument sakes say) £50 million after sorting contracts, I would rather split it on 2 players who are world class ability then 5 £10 million players.

Quality, not Quantity is what we need. We aren't in a terrible position squad wise, we just need investment in the right areas on genuinely top class ability.

Yep everybody knew that except the deluded RS fans and media!

What gets me is their insistence that doing the same again won't result in the same outcome - even after they have now done it twice in a row...

What we need is for the squad to stick together. It's a tough ask, but with the investment and TV money more than doable. On top of that, one or two quality additions to show our ambition (hopefully) of getting to where we want to be.

That's in the short term.

In the long term, commercial and corporate side needs sorting, and that goes hand in hand with the stadium etc.

Re Yarmolenko, I have not heard anything since the window. But, the main reason that he would probably prefer us to Arsenal is still very much valid.

Now, the news of our new owner might alter that landscape, but by this summer? I remain sceptical that it would.

Handanovic or Mandanda - Bosman
Banega or Montolivo - Bosman
Van der Wiel - Bosman
Yarmelenko - £18m
Wayne Rooney - £10m

We can offer the bosmans a high wage.

Handanovic would be nice and I think Rooney or Yarmolenko are doable.

But can we please stray away from this listing of targets just yet? It's not a slant on yourself at all mate but it's just a bit too FIFA-esque just yet - I need to be weaned onto the fact that we may have money slowly :D

considering he will be getting scouted by others, plus the interest from Dortmund and Arsenal, we would have to offer signifcanlty more wages to lure him here which i don't want the club to do. your man Roydo said it himself, they left it to the summer, so a late surge on 4th aside, we can't deliver CL or currently europa either.

Its not pessamism, its just after a year of the rumour, you learn to give it up and move on, which is how i can appreciate NIasse lol
