Everton Transfer Thread 2016

haha yeah, just stick mirallas on him, literally keep him only for derby games to keep yarmlenko in check.

Perhaps Yarmalenko should signal the end of our poor negotiations from now on also? We are notoriously bad for signing players, be nice if that changed from now on. Not arsed about their chairman, if united or chelsea wanted Yarmalenko last summer they would have signed them last summer. The player wanted to move, the club was open to the sale at that time, and we just towed the line instead waiting for it to be ok'd.

Yeah i would like to see an end to that to be honest, hopefully with the potential ambition of Moshiri we will see an end to it all. That and a manager who will have the funds and knowhow to go out and get who they want will be a bonus.

Just what we need! Another 21ish year old centre back to go with Stones, Browning, Pennington, Galloway & Holgate
Its the new thing!

Moyes collected fullbacks followed by teenage goalkeepers.

Martinez collects young defenders.

haha if you actually think about it, martinez has signed more young inexperienced defenders than any other position since joining and he is notorious for bad defending.

He likes to coach the defending out of them when they are young you see... ;)

The best negotiator for a manager i have ever come accross was David Dein. Him leaving also saw the fortunes of Arsenal drop overnight, not really a coincidence....

Wenger would tell him i want that player, i will bid 8 million for arguments sake. He would tell him that is his value. Dein would come back to him and say 'we have bought you that player, but paid 10 million instead, but he is your player now'.

Obviously worked because they won titles!

He see's a promising young defender, buys them, coaches defending out of them and eventually europe will be full of defenders who have had no defensive coaching from the ages 19-24!
Then in 5 years time werever Martinez is he will be winning everything with his forward thinking football because no one in europe can defend!
I see it now, he is playing the long game

He's actually very good. Strong, can pass a ball, is an intelligent defender (something we can use) and is a leader.
He's very close to the national team and has a good chance of going to the Euros.
We should buy him. Maybe he can organise our defense?!

I noticed in one of the links i read that it said he was the leader of the Brugge defence and had just been named in the last belgian squad.

Something we definitely lack is leadership in defence.

Does he play on the right or the left centre back position?

Galloway and Holgate are still England youth internationals and have progressed well and Foulds is getting good reviews. If we add in Connolly then thats an English back 4 which covers us for depth if they all come through along with others like Kenny.

Mori is an international and this chap is in the belgian squad as well so likely competing from day 1.

If we signed him its a signing the new manager has approved.

No its not as the report says we have scouted him several times so its not as if a new manager has pointed this player out to us

Why is this a good thing? We are awful.

Being a youth international is meaningless mate. How many have we had over the past 10 years who have all just dropped down to league one and two?

I remember mark hughes getting rave reviews, captain of the reserves, going to be a top player, then we sold him to burnley out of the blue.
