Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

France is the market for us. Sigurdsson would probably enjoy Monaco, I'm sure Djibril will have said nice things about it.

So it seems the Septics all want us to sign this McKennie lad from Schalke. I have seen Schalke precisely twice this season, to watch JJK, and I had to check if McKennie played in those games because he made zero impact on me (a bit like Hojbjerg at Saints tbh). He did play apparently. What am I missing?

I'd like to have an American here but I don't want to stagnate Weston's development playing alongside our turds. Best to keep promising Americans away from us for now.

Promising Americans, what an oxymoron.

That is normally true, but this new generation appears to be different. The US has never had U21s playing at this level before. Pulisic, McKennie and Adams are all ballers.

That being said, I'll stop taking the bait. My intention is not to get into a spat about US and English youths. I'd obviously Weston here, I just doubt it happens.

Sigurdsson won't want to be a bench warmer and he equally won't want to start every week in a league where's he's run off the pitch - the guys ego can't take it. I would imagine his agent is already looking to find him a new club and we'll take what we can get. If he went to Holland or the MLS you might get another couple of years out of him.
I don't know if Chinese clubs are still spending money on players but he certainly would be ideal for their league.

I like your confidence and I hope things are better next season. I wrote my comments in a pit of despair. I went to my first game in 1977 and saw the great team in the 80’s.Now it just feels like we just survive. There is no excitement, just existence. I figure that if you keep on doing that, whilst losing a fortune, the luck will eventually run out, and no team Is guaranteed survival.

I was looking at that squad and realising how poor it is and how hamstrung we are to do anything about it.

Ive been up-beat on here over signings and appointments only to be bitterly disappointed. I had high hopes las summer as Brands previous dealings seemed promising. could well turn out to be the worst in the division.

Whilst we finally have a manager capable of greatness, we will probably have limited ability to support him, at least for a season as a lot of the baggage leaves next summer.
Another summer like last year and we’re finished. We would have an awful squad and no way of rectifying it.

I've been following us since 96, i have no confidence or hope really anymore, i just know this is a club that doesn't do relegation, not even with walter Smith and horrific players, i wouldn't trust the players' desire and attitude if we were ever in that situation but football is at an all time low regarding quality and i know we'll always be fine because of that. Half of this league is championship quality so we're lucky.

Our only hope for shifting Siggurdson is China, Qatar, the US, one of those retirement leagues. I suspect we're stuck with him for another year.

Think any of the bottom third of the prem as well as teams like burnley or sheff utd would take a punt on him for a bargain price imo, it was only a year ago he scored 13 or so for us.
