Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Bayern, Dortmund or PSG won’t be interested. And no other teams from them leagues could pay his palace salary, never mind a pay rise.
So unles he’s prepared to take a big wage cut I can’t see it
You may be right but PSG have made enquiries previously. If his fee is cheaper than last season then perhaps.

I think we have reached the point where a good proportion of Palace fans would be resigned to seeing him go. He doesn’t want to stay, he doesn’t owe us anything, he’s not going to improve as a player with us, his value is diminishing and the money will help to rebuild an ageing squad. All sad but all true.
What’s your opinion of him? You watch him week in week out, you think he’s overrated?

Doubt clubs will pay huge chunk of money there he is 28 soon.

Most Clubs do it.... don't think its much to worry about

I've got it on good authority that liverpool have increased their overdraft facility by 200m last month..... from someone who works on the lending side of the bank they are with!!
Wouldn’t they did this just so the cash flow is much better then either Mosh or Usmanov just pay it off and we dont actually break ffp by dong this? Possibly i think

I think Palace missed the chance to get big money for him last year,

IF we are interested this year, no more than 25-30mill. Otherwise there is more value out there, younger and cheaper options.

In 52 years of watching Palace he is the most technically gifted Palace player I have seen. He is frustrating because he can drift in and out of games and often his benefit has been that two or even three opposition defenders are detailed to close him every time he wins the ball feeing up loads of space for others.
He can be a bit of a sulker but when you’re behind late on (as we often are) and he is on his game, then you always feel you have a chance.

I certainly think he is worth less this year than last. Realistically I’m sure the club realise that as well.

What’s this mean then? Something else to worry about?

I would suggest it means that we are borrowing against rge next round of TV payments due, whenever they are made.

Liverpool have also had a big loan out, actually bigger than Everton's, as have Spurs, United etc. Football has always struggled for cash flow in the "off" season. Metrobank are a reputable broker, whereas the other company is more a reflection of where both football, and Everton are at currently.

I suppose more than 1 thing can be true simultaneously;
1) Everton's financial position is dire
2) Everton have at least 1, and potentially 3+ billionaires backing the club, whowill emerge from Covid much stronger
3) Rules around football mean they can't just hand the club money with FFP.

A lot of people seem to think that the existence of 2 automatically means 1 is not true.

If we signed Zaha I suppose one positive is teams would be less inclined to or at least be forced into not doubling up on and kicking the sh-it out of Richarlison. He’d have a bit more freedom. As I said though any thing over £25million for him and we should swerve. I think Palace will be lucky to get £30m for him. Best chance to make mega money on him was last summer.

Tosun + Bolasie swap.
