Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Think Zaha's great but would simply cost too much and would be a disaster if he was anything short of our best player for the fee he'd command. Then we'd have another player pushing 30 on big wages who we'd struggle to offload.

He could probs slot right into Chelsea or even City where most of / everything is there already pretty much for forwards to flourish, would simply be too much for him to try and drag us into top 6 when there's already question marks over him.

Doubt we're as skint as some are making out this summer, but I'm pretty sure Zaha would cost the same as a good CM, CB and winger combined.

He is starting to become as much as a problem for us as a solution. We have only 2 or 3 players that would command a half decent fee and we desperately need some new blood in an ageing squad. I would be comfortable with Zaha, Sakho & Benteke off the wage bill and bring in some younger players.

Yeah that's the problem isn't it. Zaha is the main assets but this summer will be a sellers market. So you'd have to drop your evaluation of him to sell him.

Benteke is 30 this year on decent wages got injury issues, doest score, doesn't assist and his contract is up next year isn't it? Same with sahko 30, contract up in a year. Although I think he'd he good for any team that predominantly plays the low block and sits deep. Think he falls too bits when asked to play a high line but I don't watch that much of him.

I dont know what palaces finances are like but our issue is the wages all the players we want rid of are on crazy wages. They won't take pay cuts so we end up having to loan them out to cover the wages while the players value keeps on dropping.

Sounds about right. I remember watching him against us and we doubled up on him almost all of the time. Still couldn't get the ball off him. We haven't had someone with that ability to take the ball under pressure and get us up the pitch since Arteta. Fellaini also but via the air. Zaha would be a big improvement on any of our options.

I do agree that for the fees reported it would make the move a bit senseless, though.

serious question, when did we last do a swap deal? They are pretty rare in football anyway, the last one I remember is Aresenal/ Man Utd, Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Alexis Sanchez.

I have heard agents say they are difficult to do and often the players dont want to be labelled the "make weight".
I keep hearing this year is the year that a lot "should" happen.
