Reading Ancelloti's book and he likes Rodriguez, specifically for being unselfish and a hard worker.
Bale however, the times hes mentioned aren't flattering. Once for his inability to learn Spanish and integrate into the Madrid team. The other was a situation where Bale didn't want to play on the wing, prefering a central role. His agent leaked it to the press.

The only way to almost sure fire guarantee a change in formation for next season is by a signing like James. If we make a big name signing that doesn't seem to make sense its probably because Ancelotti has other plans for the team next season. I really hope the coaching staff and players are still reviewing different tactics and scenarios to move away from the organized but limited 442.

I agree. If we want to keep Richarlison and DCL up top together as a partnership we need to move to some kind of diamond midfield or a 3-5-2 of sorts. Otherwise good teams will overrun us in the middle of the park like Chelsea did.

James would certainly make a 4-3-1-2 an attractive set up for our team. We'd just need another box to box midfielder to play with Gomes and Gbamin.

We should have played 4-3-1-2 all along with zero wingers.

I don't think we had the midfielders when Carlo first got here and by the we had 3 get healthy at the same time we had won a few games using 4-4-2. But I do agree. It's a better formation overall and I think Iwobi and Bernard would play better centrally.
