Interesting listening to the county road bobblers podcast, with El pivote and the Esk. Now I know El pivote knows more about how transfers work and agents abd clubs than me. And the Esk in terms of finances. But both think this virus is bad news for us as we are already struggling to get rid of our deadwood.
But me ( with my positive blue hat on) thinks it may actually work in our favour. Especially if they relax FFP. If you take Allan from Napoli, who’s been linked, just say Ancelotti wanted him in January, rumour has it Allan had fall out with the owner and wanted out.
So Napoli want 40/45mil to offset it we try and get rid of Schneiderlin and want 15mil, which no one is paying. So basically a 25/30mil swing on that transfer.
So now we cut the price for Schneiderlin by half to 7/8 mil I know there still his wages to get round, but for that price I’m sure that would be a few takers. And from what I’ve read Napoli May accept 20/25 mil for Allan now, so the swing is now roughly 15mil.
I know it’s not that straight forward, but my point is that the players we want will cost a lot more than the rubbish we want rid of, so maybe it will work in our favour, with potentially 30%+ coming off fees.
