Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

How many seasons has Fraser played in British football? Compared to Bernard’s 1 1/2 seasons. How many international tournaments or European games has Fraser played in?

How hard do you have to try to deny Fraser's superior Premier League record?

Get rid of Tom Davies (not prem standard), iwobi the headless chicken, Tosun (not good enough), siggy (legs gone), Bolasie.

not good enough for a top 6 side.

keane can play sub behind the new Lille CB, Mina and Holgate.

Bernard can’t last a full game and doesn’t assist or score. Sub player.

Bring in some energy and quality in midfield. Allan from Napoli and Rodríguez will do.

if a decent opportunity comes up to sign a good keeper do it and send Pickford to some nextman club.
I think Keane will go, only has 2 years left. And we can get away with 3CB’s plus Gibson with out Europe.

I think that some posters are thinking of signings that would have satisfied us in the past and still consider them good enough for Everton.
We now have an elite manager and I think our signings are going to have to reflect that. If we look at a player like Ryan Fraser and others we have to ask if Utd, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal could have any interest in the player because if they haven't then we should not either.

Signing young players the manager feels he can turn into top quality players will be one route to follow and I think we will sign a couple of players around the thirty mark to bring that immediate lift to the team.

I think the players we currently have will become the squad players and some that can fetch a good fee could easily be sold... with the exceptions of course of the players that we do not want to sell.

I think the question will asked if players would have a contribution to make in a team challenging in the top four/six of the league.
Can Bernard play at that level ? , can Iwobi ? , can Davies ?, can Walcott.... and so on.

The manager will have made probably three to five signings some or all being immediate first team starters. The standard of the team should now be higher than before and can those already in the squad have the ability to play a part.
The dynamic of the team will have changed with these signings and players will hopefully now be asked to play roles that best suit them rather than just filling gaps and getting slaughtered by fans who do not understand what is happening.

I have no idea what plans the manager has for the majority of players in our squad and I don't believe anybody else here has either.

Fraser and Bernard have similar Premier League records if you feel the need to discount Fraser's superb performances from last season.

You aren’t the slightest bit concerned about the fact we’ve done nothing but sign players based on “superb performances” for absolutely dog muck teams for the past 4 years?

So you still want to sign a player with the same record as Bolasie even though we still own Bolasie?

I would be okay with selling a player that has a worse record than Bolasie, and replacing him with a player that has a superior record without having to pay a transfer fee

Signing players with good premier league records on free transfers is okay with me, yes. It beats paying £30 million for the likes of Iwobi that has never come close to having a great record at all.

Would like to point out Fraser and Bolasie have very similar PL records.
Ok, so according to transfermarkt:

Bolasie has played 119 times in the premier league.

he has 11 goals and 23 assists

that’s a goal every 10.8 appearances

and an assist every 5.2 appearances

Fraser has played 120 times in the premier league.

he has 16 goals and 29 assists

that’s a goal every 7.5 appearance

and an assist every 4.1 appearances

so according to these stats fraser’s goal/assist per appearance record is significantly better than bolasie’s.

obviously you could go deeper with stats. Things like goals/assists per min are better than per appearance. Also I think chances created is better than assists. It’s unfair that bolasie was supplying Niasse and DCL (before he turned good) and Fraser was supplying Calum Wilson who is actually a really good finisher.

having said all that, I’ve seen bolasie play for Everton and no longer want him at the club (though he was decent before his injury in 2016).

fraser may be slightly better but I don’t want Everton to give him the 5 year 120k a week deal he will get from some mugs as a free agent this summer.

But you weren’t comparing it to the signing of Iwobi??

Would you pay £30m for Jesse Lingard who has a similar PL record to Fraser as a bit-part player in an average United side?

I'm very much in the camp of us needing to massively upgrade our creative players, but Lingard and Fraser aren't it.
