Rodriguez has only 1 year left on his deal and has a good relationship with Ancelotti which counts for a lot - Also Real want to sell him.

Villa ideally want to keep Grealish and are rumoured to want in excess of £60 million for him (more if they aint relegated).

We have more chance of Rodriguez for £30-35 million imo.
I just hope if we bring in Rodriguez he plays a role as a CAM. I know we like the 4-4-2 with Carlo but the last has had major injuries to those knees. Couldnt imagine him having the pace outside we need

Hamez 35m, 200k a week, 4 year contract = No resale, injured constantly - 76m
Grealish 60m, 100k a week and a bottle of babysham, 5 year contract, 60m sale in 4 years - 25m

For the record I wouldnt touch either.

And you say I don't like good footballers.

But there's really no debate that Grealish is less risky financially even if the initial outlay is greater.

Will have to wait and see bud - out of both links so far I imagine the Rodriguez one has more substance considering Ancelotti wanted to sign him for Bayern.

I would love either but just cant see Grealish coming here think he'll either stay at Villa and like Zaha be in limbo in terms of costing too much or possibly end up at a Spurs type side.

Spurs aren't careful and they'll be an Everton type side shortly

I think Hamez is a wonderful player, but hes very injury prone and buying him to play on the wing is a horrific idea.

I watched Grealish a few times this season, some games he was head and shoulders above everybody, some games he went utterly AWOL, im not sure hes worth 60m and for me we need somebody less lazy on the defensive side.

But to state again, I think both players are wonderfully talented, just not quite worth the outlay needed to acquire.

I think this might be the thing that makes me go crazy the quickest that our supporters always talk about. First off Grealish works hard, he's poor defensively because he's an attacker, but the effort is there. Secondly who gives an actual when we have a half decent creative player role through the club once every 5 years whether or not the sucker can defend?

If Grealish is actually a possibility for us, and the price they want is 60m prior to any negotiation, we really should be all over that.
