Are they?

I was one of the few that wasn't absolutely creaming their kecks when Moshiri sold Lukaku in order to bring in Klaassen and Sigurdsson. Mind you, it's not that I don't rate Bernard, I just acknowledge that his PL record is worse than Ryan Fraser's.
Bernard has the highest involvement per attacking movement resulting in a shot or goal this season

First off, where are you seeing this?

Secondly, Bernard's ability to create shots for teammates isn't too bad, his ability to create good shots is. And getting shots off himself isn't a strength either.

You probably thought Ademola Lookman was better then Grealish up until about 3 months ago to be fair.
Negative. I would have been through the roof if we sold Lookman and put the money toward Grealish. I would have been happy enough with what we did if Iwobi worked out fwiw.

Bernard is so good that the great Carlo himself plays sig over him. Also, I’m still confused as to the DOF role. It seems to change to suit people’s agendas with brands. But if Brands chooses the signings, why are we all of a sudden linked with a load of Serie A players with reports stating “Ancelotti is a big admirer”. It’s like the Richarlison question of who actually signed him. This debate will rage on for a long time depending on why your agenda is with Brands.

There’s no reason why Iwobi couldn’t still work out, he’s played about 4 games under a good manager in the last two years.

Hope to see the end of Keane, sigurdsson, Schneids and walcott from this first team squad as a minimum. They are utterly finished. Realistically anything over 60 million for them would be good business by the club. If we can shift the remaining deadwood in sandro, bolasie etc on permanent deals then good business again.

We have clearly shifted focus to bringing in players to develop with resale value which is spot on imo. Having someone like Ancelotti in charge hopefully means when players start to hit their peak, which is typically when we have sold in the past, we are in a position to be challenging for Honours and better positioned to keep those players and move up a level.

Strangely I think the pandemic will help bring clubs like spurs, chelsea and United further towards us next season as the financial knock on ripples through football. We have to get the recruitment right when the window opens this summer, give Ancelotti everything he needs to push us on, hes the best manager we are going to have steering the ship and coaching the players and opportunity beckons. Please dont squander this Everton.

5 more goals and 6 more assists in 120 games is not "significantly" better.
Oh but it is better. Look at the maths.

over 120 games Fraser has almost 50% more goals and over 25% more assists. It essentially proves he’s more efficient at making things happen. That’s the historical evidence.

If we look at potential future performance it becomes no contest.

Fraser has just turned 26 and should be entering the peak years of his career.

Bolasie will turn 31 next month. As a winger who relies on strength and pace I don’t see him improving as he gets older. Who knows, maybe he’ll reinvent himself as a holding midfielder.

Add to that: nearly all of Bolasie’s goals and assists were scored at palace. A club he left in summer 2016. 4 years ago. At Everton he has just 2 goals and 4 assists to his name. And I believe all bar 1 goal were scored/assisted in the first half of the 16/17 season, before his injury.

he has scored/assisted on loan but that was in the championship or in European B standard leagues. Essentially he’s done at the top level and everyone knows it. That’s why no one will buy him and he’s going to be sitting on his Everton contract until it expires in summer 2021.

between him and Fraser the stats prove Fraser is better. Logic also shows it’s a near certainty that Fraser would be the better bet for the future.

I still wouldn’t want him at Everton though.
