Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

I've written iwobi off because I saw him way too much at arsenal. Every time I saw his name on the arsenal team sheet instead of ozil or lacazette or Ramsey, I had no idea what arsenal were playing at, I cursed them... Then we went and paid an astonishingly high fee for him, it was absurd.

I thought he was very ordinary at Arsenal, and was both suprised and disappointed when he was linked and then signed by us.

He has done absolutely nothing to alter my initial opinion of him. I really cannot see him suddenly becoming a top class player.
He has struggled to put in average performances tbh.

Grealish would be good. But Grealish would be VERY expensive and will not be joining Everton.
He’l go a bigger club, United or spurs, the lad needs European football and he’l get selected for england if he signs for either of them (should be selected already if you ask me) look at the rubbish which has got selected for England over the years whilst playing for United..., Cleverley, Jones, smalling, Richardson, lingard etc

Always said he was woeful footballer, I think he’l be up there on the worst signings ever list unless we cash out for a small loss, no1 knows his best position, he doesn’t do a lot, his first touch is awful and he don’t score a lot, would be alright in the Scottish prem standard

David Ornstein says Man Utd not in for Grealish. Could be very good news for us.
Yeah would be are chance to get him i feel he could really push on here
Jack Grealish rumours sound complete paper talk
Wouldn’t want Grealish anywhere near the club. Good player but a prize bell who’s going to be in all the papers for all the wrong reasons.
I don't think he acts much different than any other player his age. I don't think he's Pogba levels of self absorbed anyway. The fact that he might be obtainable and is actually a top talent makes it worth it imo.
Grealish has largely played out wide this season hasn't he?

Just doesn't seem feasible.

Everton Soares on the LW and James Rodriguez on the RW is my feeling.
Hamez 35m, 200k a week, 4 year contract = No resale, injured constantly - 76m
Grealish 60m, 100k a week and a bottle of babysham, 5 year contract, 60m sale in 4 years - 25m

For the record I wouldnt touch either.
And you say I don't like good footballers.

But there's really no debate that Grealish is less risky financially even if the initial outlay is greater.
Will have to wait and see bud - out of both links so far I imagine the Rodriguez one has more substance considering Ancelotti wanted to sign him for Bayern.

I would love either but just cant see Grealish coming here think he'll either stay at Villa and like Zaha be in limbo in terms of costing too much or possibly end up at a Spurs type side.
I think Hamez is a wonderful player, but hes very injury prone and buying him to play on the wing is a horrific idea.

I watched Grealish a few times this season, some games he was head and shoulders above everybody, some games he went utterly AWOL, im not sure hes worth 60m and for me we need somebody less lazy on the defensive side.

But to state again, I think both players are wonderfully talented, just not quite worth the outlay needed to acquire.
I think this might be the thing that makes me go crazy the quickest that our supporters always talk about. First off Grealish works hard, he's poor defensively because he's an attacker, but the effort is there. Secondly who gives an actual when we have a half decent creative player role through the club once every 5 years whether or not the sucker can defend?

If Grealish is actually a possibility for us, and the price they want is 60m prior to any negotiation, we really should be all over that.
I think it boils down to what Grealish will do as he gets older. He is clearly a talent and has improved his game alot since Villa were last in the top flight.

We lack a midfielder who can take complete control of a game. I had hoped Davies would develop into that player, but he just hasn't kicked on since he burst onto the first team scene.

Grealish will be 25 in September, his output from the left adds another threat and I cant see why anyone wouldnt want him aside from his "extra curricular" activities.

Having someone like him in the team would free up space for Digne on the overlap and opposition defences wouldnt be able to double up on our left side...it could also pull centre backs apart giving more space for DCL/Richarlison.

If we do have the money then we should be striking deals now while people are in panic mode.

Pickford, Holgate, DCL will all be in the England squads...Grealish would be our 4th England international if we got him.

Hes the Villa Captain and i think we'd be telling him we need him to take the team up a level.

2025? Christ. Can anyone say deadwood?

I cant understand why he and Gattuso have fallen out...he seems the ideal player to fit in there.

Very hard to say what deal would make sense for ua here...ideally 3 years with a 1 year option extension.

He's made Matt Targett an attacking threat
