Looks like we are skint doesn't it. Really hoping we can get someone in midfield I cannot abide Morgan, Sig, Delph or Davies anymore... We need some physicality in there desperately. I would even try Beni at this point the names mentioned are either dross or badly average.

What happened to him? Has he been out on loan?

Looked to have something about him in the few games he played for us, very raw like but might be worth a go in the upcoming friendlies

Only seen the sub text, but an article in The Athletic mentions the players being promised big signings when agreeing to the wage deferrals...

OK forget the Anfield game then....like i said, hes not good against the better sides.

Are you really going to use the opinions of random posters on here to try to make the point? I'm sure you could find plenty of positive posts about him in that same thread. And a lot of people on here chat wham anyway so its a bit of a moot point lol

I'd say winning 11 duals is a pretty good indicator that he defended ok in that game, and if he had as much of a shocker as youre making out Everton wouldnt have dedicated a post specifically to him (they didnt do a stats post for anyone else after that game)
Well the randoms who post on here are just the same as the randoms who post on Everton's social media. I know the bloke who does a lot of Everton's social media stuff and he is absolutely not a footballing genius. I'm also seeing the irony of you saying I shouldn't listen to other people's opinions on here but yours is boss.

You're right though, we should just accept that he's rubbish against decent teams. They only make up a microscopic 30% of our league games, being dire in them is fine.

When did I say my opinion was boss?

I said it doesnt really help your argument when you just cherry pick the negative comments from random posters....I could just do the same with the positive comments....and none of us on here are respected pundits or anything so quoting what random people said about him doesnt add any weight to the argument.

And when did I say its OK for him to be dire against the better teams?

My point is that against the lower teams I think Sidibe is fine and is actually an attacking weapon that adds something to our play.

We shouldnt play him against the better teams tho, we should play Coleman as hes defensively more solid.

What's the consensus on what the budget may be for when the 'summer' transfer window opens up?

So much varying and contrasting stories so it's hard to keep up. Papers still have all clubs linked to big signings and Werner/Icardi will almost certainly move in +50M deals. That doesn't feel like covid19 is having any impact on transfers.

On the flip side there's stories of Premier League clubs being 500M to 1bn down based on covid19 impact on gate receipts and TV rebates. Even if that's 25-50M per club you'd think that's got to affect the market and the available funds for transfers for each club.

Maybe it presents an opportunity for a bargain if the market collapses and their is money to spend?

I'm not trying to kick off here, I was just saying you can't really say 'posters, ha what would they know' when the answer is obviously just as much as you. I only posted the comments in response to you posting something from facebook, just to point out that I certainly wasn't alone in thinking he was defensively poor in that game. You were the one who went off to find 'evidence' to back you up, don't blame me for doing the same.

You're obviously welcome to your opinion, I just disagree. I don't think Coleman is good enough defensively against the top teams now either, and I don't think bringing in a right back who might only be of any use as an attacking option in certain games is a great move personally. I wouldn't be surprised if the club disagree though.

The echo saying loans and frees but we must have a few quid even in this situation. I would say we have around 50m and will have to use all that in midfield. One CM and one RW. Maybe loan in a CB and right back. Take a free or two. It's grim because apparently we had all our business lined up and this situation has collapsed deals like Gabriel seemingly.
