Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

We have not exactly spent loads since Walsh.

Same level of spending this summer and we will be sound. All our best players have come in since brands anyway.

Brands has walked into the perfect job here, gets paid big money and he can’t get rid of the deadwood and not likely to be buying too many players.
He’ll be excused for any failings.

Only Everton would pay big money for a Highly rated DOF and manager and not back them.

Brands has been involved in rebuilding the whole scouting system, over 100 transfers and 2 managerial appointments in his 2 years here.

Notice Carlos latest words, he clearly doesn't feel as tho he's not getting backed.

I swear some like you expect an magician ffs.

Our best players or most of them have come in under him. He has got rid of some dross.

And massive wage?? He is on less than walsh at less than £1 mill a year.

Get a grip

I like Brands a bunch, his first summer was outstanding imo but you have to admit that last year was underwhelming to say the least. And his refusal to do any genuine business in January really aggravates me..

I have no issue with the not spending in January, we bought Tosun and Walcott in January to 'cover positions we needed' and both we are now lumped with, who are both crap. If the right player becomes available then great, if not then save the money until summer.

Brands hasn't come to rebuild rome in a day. It will take time, and it'll take careful player selection, not getting a CB for the sake of it just because our first or second targets cant materalise (ie Zouma). They and he will have a 3 or 5 year plan to address the issues and put us in a better position.

Not acceptable, but we will make excuses.

People are desperate to provide excuses! They’re also still blaming Walsh when Brands brought in Iwobi and Gbamin for 50 million pound last year!

I can’t stand seeing some of these formations that are including Iwobi on the left or even as a number 10. There was a formation a few pages ago that had Iwobi playing as a 10 and Coutinho playing on the left ffs.

If Richarlison is gona play upfront, then we really should be bringing in Ryan Fraser; as Iwobi is absolutely shocking and the thought of having him as our left midfielder is truly frightening as we will go absolutely nowhere with him.

Once again, I'm not in love with Ryan Fraser, but I think he is better than what we have already. He certainly isn't any worse!

As if you're blaming Brands for Gbamin getting a long-term injury in his second game. Absolute nonsense.

Because otherwise he’d definitely have been absolutely class?

The facts are that another 50 million pound went down the toilet last summer under Brand’s watch. With Gbamin being unable to kick a ball in training without sustaining six month long injuries.

Brands is definitely well placed within the excuse cohort.

You cannot blame someone for a player getting a long-term injury like he did. It's that simple. Gbamin is still down as unproven. How on earth can you see that coming? Crazy.

Brands also isn't in control of physio, strength and conditioning nor is he a doctor. If he's been brought back too soon then Silva (who apparently did that) and the medical team have to be responsible. To blame the DOF for an injury is comical.
