Howard was miles ahead of Joel. Howard was a good keeper at Everton unlike Joel who was a backup material in PL. Their career paths had proven that.

Cheaper than Aaron's then. He is the type we should be looking at. We can clearly offer him a guaranteed pathway to being the starting RB which would go in our favour.

It is a fantasy to believe we will sell players for cash up front (particularly to clubs in Europe where every deal is staged payments and performance clauses) but buy on the drip (particularly from clubs in PL where the norm remains for PL to PL deals for payment in full for the core fee within a year). File under silly season.

It’s how it’s worked through the books though.
I’m no expert, I’m sure some in here will know exactly how it works.

But if we sold Bernard say to an Italian club for 15mil all that goes into the pot, irrelevant if the pay 1mil a year for 15years.

Then we sign Lozano for 25. And give him a 5 year Deal. On 70k a week. That’s 8.5mil. So a 6.5 profit on the books. Even if we give Napoli 20mil upfront.

That’s the reason Barca have just sold a midfield for 72. Then bought a 30yr old for 60.

If Silva goes there, could make some sense. I liked Mina, and I would want a decent offer for him. It hasn't quite worked out here yet.

If as quoted by Ancelotti that we're only looking at signing 3 players I can't see a RB being one of them. Especially if they are looking at bring Kenny back.
