But still, do you agree he’s been our third best keeper since about 1986?

probably yeah , I don’t rate Pickford but at least he’s able to produce good saves. Howard was very meh! Didn’t make good saves and wasn’t that hard to score against

Not if we dont have europe. 3 would be ok with Branthwaite or Gibson as emergency 4th choice.

Not sure on that. We have been lucky in central defence this year. On the other hand we have had 3 central midfielders injured virtually every week of the season.
We have no idea if Branthwaite or Gibson are capable of Prem games, let alone playing together.

Hojbjerg to me just seems like a nothing player. Never stood out. Can't see him working with Gomes in a 2 either. Surely Brands + Ancelotti can find better for that amount of money.

howard was bang average , and no I’m not remember him in his last years incase that’s what you’re thinking. In ten years playing for us I can remember 1 game whenat the end I thought “ if it wasn’t for Howard we would have got nothing “ was spurs away and I think we got a draw. He didn’t have a single “ southall” performance in his entire ten years here. Martyn has quite a few and was fantastic and the 0-0 derby when he somehow kept gerrards 6 yard pile driver out , was the best I can remeber from him. Even steak had one against city , a game where we were totally battered but somehow the keeper gets us something against all odds. Howard never did anything like that in his entire Everton career

Think Joel is better than Paul Gerrard and Simonsen that’s it. Martinez made loads of terrible signings. Tarashaj, Besic, Pennington (new contract) are still here and Niasse plus Garbutt (new contract) just left a few days ago. It’s 2020 for god sake...

Was referring to the lil Argentinan fella, I am well aware of @ForeverBlue92 's admiration for Mr Ings - I'd gladly have him here myself if it wasn't for his price tag and injury record, Southampton will be screwed once his knees explode again
