Err, don't think so. Even Allardyce got them top half. And he's spent millions 'improving it'.

Allardyce got good results for us. Terrible performances though. I'd rather have Carlo. He had 2 of his players playing tonight.

When you're stuck with a midfield including Siggurdson, Iwobi, Gomes with Delph and Bernard as subs, there's a hell of a long way to go.
Our squad is pish. We've probably got 6 or 7 players worth holding onto.

At least this summer's window, plus another season, we'll see where we are.

Alex Ferguson took over a below average Man Utd squad in 86. He won the league for the first time in 93.
Christ sake people, have a bit of patience.

Well I mean if Villa beat us next week then that's the game that could turn it.

I'm not confident we finish top 8. Haven't been since about Feb.

Weirdly, I fancy us away now in most games. The intensity seems a little higher, a bit more desire to win when we are away. Wouldn’t complain if we miss out, ultimately you finish where you deserve to finish.

...I understand that view but I just think they we found it difficult to match them defensively.

I’m not just saying this with hindsight, but I find it amazing Holgate starts a game when Mina and Keane are fit. I say this regularly, even when he’s had a good game. We really have no legs in midfield and folk are crying out to sign Coutinho.

Ancelotti has stuck with Gomes, I presume because he thinks he’s terrific in possession but it’s not working.

i don’t know what’s going on but it’s a mess of a team.

Agree with the defence shout, swap Holgate, for Mina and that's solved. That first goal Holgate conceded was disgraceful, he'd already had prior warning about Watkins about two minutes earlier closing him down, but didn't heed it. I really think Watkins is an electric forward, whose movement is first class and will give most defenders problems, better than DCL ? He may well be. But Villa had pace all over the park, we look sluggish. I noticed as soon as a tiring Gomes went off, our passing dropped right off a cliff, we should be looking for a quicker Gomes in the middle. Sigurdsson really struggled today, game was too quick for him, another that needs replacing, we all know our midfield is terribly one paced and when you meet a fast team like Villa/ Leeds we look awful.

It’s not good enough for me given the money we have spent and that, but, it’s a complete anomaly this season without fans.
