It's not hard mate. You don't need to defend every single one of his decisions. FWIW, I think in flashes we've attacked quite well considering we don't have our only player who can control a ball fit.

Even if James hadn't got crocked, our midfield would have still been totally open.

Carlo needs to sort himself out and start dropping the lame ducks who offer nothing to this side - Gomes, Holgate, Iwobi utter toilet.

Iwobi wasnt that bad. Our left side... Digne and Holgate together what an invitation to Villa. 4:4:2 doesnt work with that kind of midfield. Barkley has a field day.

I actually don’t think Iwobi has been that bad. Going forward he’s got us up the pitch and played not bad. He defo grew into the game. Pickford has kept us in it and something needs to change in that midfield

I think Ancelotti has got this wrong here.

He's instructed to play out, repeatedly - and it's given Villa impetus to step up. They know we're not good enough. It's obvious they could get at Holgate - and there's midfielders like Gomes who hide and don't give the easy ball out for defence.

Also getting concerned how the tempo is always so flat from the off, and how Ancelotti seems to allow so many players to play their own game.

We're all over the shop, no balance, no tempo.

As bad as any Everton performance in years - thankfully a combination of Pickford, luck, and Villa being poor has meant we're not 4 or 5 down.

I'd get Mina on for Holgate and Davies for Sigurdsson right now.

I disagree with that, 2 of his players are out and the replacements are absolutely rubbish. Also harsh to blame the manager when defenders are having a nightmare.

He chose James knowing he didnt have the body to play week in week out in prem, yeah not carlos fault what holgate did but we are playing terrible??! admit it if it was big sam you would be slautering him!
