Indeed. Having the ball and doing nothing with it apart from side-to-side or backwards is counter-productive because it lets teams compose themselves.

When we got the ball today, we were mainly on the front foot and went at Bournemouth; when they had the ball, they never looked like scoring at all.

We did to them what most teams try to do to us at home.

Whenever we score or take a lead it’s like we just switch from 100% effort to 65% effort, we start inviting the opposition on us and we make more mistakes. These players need to have that 100% mentality for the entire game like when Newcastle destroyed Sheffield United

I think this is why Doucoure needs competition, another no 10 who is more technical and will help retain possession better and help control the tempo of the game.

I think the way we press and swarm players makes other teams look crap. Brentford, Villa in the cup and Bournemouth today were awful and I think we deserve credit for that.
