Job done. Defenders scoring goals. Gomes playing well.
As mentioned , shackles apparently off. Four goals. Only one match. But looking good. Now do the same against Newcastle. Then against Leeds. And then everything will start to look better.
No more slipping backwards. Surely even this bunch of player's can buy into what Lampard wants them to do. Surely now confidence will be high. Can Our new midfielders being something to the party? I think that they can. One match at a time. But by god, that was needed today.
Last two points. Would love to see Patterson get some gametime. I rate the guy. And predict that he will be in the future , a better player than most of the guys that are now being played in front of him. I really do rate him.
And second point. Just hope that we get a favourable home draw next.
we don't want Man City or Liverpool just yet. Let's get up a head of steam first. Then take those type of teams down later on in the tournament.
So being on the Magpies. Up The Toffees. Lampards rock and rolling Toffees.

Much much much better football, passing movement, modern tactics, squeezing and intensity. Allan looked composed, great runs and picking of space by Richy, Gray and Gordon. A few concerns asking our back three to pass it out but much better, not getting carried away but we looked a better team let off the leash.

Finally was listening to a stream with Efan Ekoku on co comms he hates Everton we were 3-1 up and he was still talking about Brentford gifting is to us. Gave Gordon no credit for the pressing, blamed their keeper when Richy notched, also said we will have another manager whithin a year, unbelievable bias.
Who, but serious dont care what people say about us most important thing is what we saw today. Was alot more confidence in the team today passing pressing everything we can go into tuesday now ans hopefully push to get the 3 points

Missed it today

Can someone some up pros and cons please

And stop me beilving we can sneak top 4
Pros were that we looked much more coherent going forward and certain players actually looked like footballers again
Cons we were still quite easy to play through in midfield and attack

Overall quite encouraging though

It just goes to show maybe conceding possession, conceding territory and playing a sloth up front was not the way to get the best from these players. There were still problems, Coleman had to be bailed out by Pickford after another horrendous back pass into our 6 yard box, we let them get at us far too often down our left hand side and Richarlison and Gray really need to start to pass to one and other. Having said that, we tried to do the fundamental things well, controlling the ball, passing the ball and putting in tackles in our opponents half. Some of the little triangles we played were nice to watch and we were in control of the game, which is very rare for us this season.

I enjoyed the game, and, although it's early days yet was obvious that we had a plan and that it involved getting hold of the football and trying t keep it. Good start Frank.

Great result today, and hopefully a sign of things to come in the run in to the end of season. A good home draw for the next round would be great, and maybe build up a bit of momentum for the run in and lift us up the table.
