He was my man of the match. When he's good, he's very good. We don't see it enough is the problem . . . plus when he's bad, he's turbo gash.
If Lampard can get him performing well consistently it will be a HUGE bonus.

Missed the game but from what I've read we were comfortable, scored goals and were much the better team.

I chose Gomes as MoM and was pleasantly surprised to find I was not alone. He looked masterful at times.

That's what I (and I assume everyone else) have always found so frustrating about Gomes. When he brings his A game to the table, he looks good enough to play for any team in the world. It's just been so rarely that we get to see his A game. And the drop off is such a contrast. When he's not on it he frequently looks awful.
Hopefully Frank can unlock the secret to him being consistant.

Gomes is at his best when we are dominating possession and his weaknesses aren’t exposed.

I don’t want him as an every match starter, but in certain matches, such as this one, he can be useful

Regardless, I went with Mina. The goal was huge, and we just look so much better as a defence with him in there
