I think Lampard will have failed to read the room if he goes for anything other than his best team available.

Yes, the PL takes priority. But that will get a boost if we get a win and then a winnable tie in Sunday's draw.
He will pick the best team. Only a nutter would sacrifice thier first ever game. A winnable one. He isn't Jesus Christ.

So these beat us 1-0 recently and we are missing Douc and Dom tomorrow and the two new boys are out. Appreciate we may see a post FSW bounce however we need to be ready to face a tough outcome tomorrow on balance.
It is the same squad who barely laid a glove on them that day. Here’s hoping there is an immediate bounce but I fear we may have to wait until the horsepunchers with a couple more sessions under the new regime’s belt plus the new signings dropping in.

I would 100% play Pickford because Frank seems to want to play possession based football and Pickford will be key to that.

However, the biggest reason for me is that we play Newcastle on Tuesday which historically has been a game that Pickford has got carried away with. As such, I would play him tomorrow and I’d have told him he was playing days ago. By doing this, it means he isn’t thinking about the Newcastle game for the entire week because that could lead to the old Pickford overthinking things and costing us.

For what it's worth. My team for tomorrow.
Pickford.
Patterson.......Branthwaite ( if fit) otherwise Holgate....Godfrey.......Mykolenko.
Gordon.......Allen.....Onyango......Townsend.
Rondon........Dobbins.
as s good a game add any to give Our new full backs a run out. And I now think a fitter Rondon might surprise us. Plenty of legs also with Gordon....Onyango and Dobbins. Allan for that wee bit of experience.
And a young defence. Kenny on the bench tomorrow.
Who knows what will happen. But do we really want to see the same old ....same old that have been making the same old mistakes and slow starts now for months. I dont.
And Let's have Richarlson and Gray on the bench. See how everything pans out. Hopefully save them for the Newcastle match. Along with our new signings. So let's rock and roll and win these next few matches.
And I really will despair if Coleman.....Keane....Gomes....Iwobi....line up.
And I know that Rondon will be unpopular. But let's see what he can do off the back of his international hatrick. Who knows. Up The Toffees.

Ok but Dobbin*
