Onana probably a big miss today.
The squad is still wafer thin in places.
More midfield options and we see the game out.
Young should have been substituted earlier.
Dyche obviously doesn't fancy Danjuma to do the defensive work that McNeil and Harrison do.
Would have taken a point before the game but it does feel like 2 points dropped.
At least we are able grind out results against the better teams something we couldn't do under Lampard

This is my biggest gripe about today. Brighton had a lot of the ball, yet for most of the game it wasn't used effectively. We looked comfortable holding them back.

However, as we tired, the gaps became bigger, which let them stretch us more and more. We weren't able to close down and make those blocks and tackles.

Mitoma kept drifting towards the byline, and it became obvious they were going to run at a tiring Young. Gana was blowing out of his arse too, which didn't help.

We got deeper and deeper into our half. Now as I said on Wednesday night, I suspect that Dyche's mentality was, "Why change a working thing?"

And I get this if you don't trust the players on the bench or whatnot compared to your first XI, but they were shattered. Their effectiveness waned by the minute.

Fresh legs could have allowed us to shore up the midfield and offer some form of outlay, which could have pushed Brighton further back from our goal.

For me, I'd have taken Dom off (who I thought did well based on little service) for Beto, and then dropped Docouré back and let Danjuma or Chermiti run.

Young needed moving from right back too, or at least pushing forward and letting Patterson drop in deep. It may not have made a difference, but leaving it didn't.

Dyche has done quite a few good things recently, as our form show, but today was two points most likely needlessly dropped because he's a rigid fool.
No decent subs to bring on.

Having zero composure on the ball made that game plan look a lot worse than it probably was, as did Onana's absence. Feel like he'd have calmed the team down a bit and given our back line an outlet through the middle, meaning we wouldn't have been hoofing it all day.

It's a good result, even if it was an ugly performance.

There were chances to create chances on the break but we made lots of poor decisions in possession. There were opportunities to go get the second goal that would have won the match
Agreed but we are not getting stuffed constantly and are a tough team to beat. Squad is a bit thin but we are climbing away from the bottom three every week. Dyche/Thelwell have improved us on little budget so very well done from me.

I went down nearly 10 mins before half time. What a boring boring brand of football. Possession must have an idea of what you want to achieve. They were happy to pass side to side, in and out and not try and score.

Horrible to watch as a fan. Borefkinring.
100% this, trying to be a City without have City quality players, at least with city they create chance after chance that makes their brand of football a lot more exciting to watch.

Again it would appear I’m in the minority again here, but I enjoy watching teams like Brighton play. I enjoy their free flowing passing game.
And I disagree with almost everything most of the posters here have said. Everton have the players to retain possession and play a more expansive game. Dyche chooses not too.

It’s not free flowing though. It’s possession for the sake of it. Without Mitoma to give them some impetus they would struggle I think.
