They actually only had 1 shot on target. Mitoma's 'shot' would have gone out for a throw in if it hadn't hit someone.

We had 22 % possession when we beat them 5 - 1 last season.Other than Mykolenko's goal didn't see any of the match.
Even if we scratched out a win, the stats point to a very boring game on our part.
Possession 20%. That is mind numbing.
Hell of a save from Pickford though and I was also delighted VAR ruled in our favour, but yeah for all their nice football they never truly threatened us.They actually only had 1 shot on target. Mitoma's 'shot' would have gone out for a throw in if it hadn't hit someone.
They were all over us, all over the pitch, all over themselves etc etc. But they only managed to score one goal with a luckily deflected cross. Possession isn't everything, it's what you do with it that matters. In games we've won we've been out possessed. We spent most of the time defending our box, I’d say they were all over us
Kind of saved by VAR as well. Draw was fair.Having watched MOTD, no comment was made about the barge in the back of an Everton player in the penalty area in the first half, nor the push on DCL. Robbed again by a ref/VAR...
Looked like he couldn't sort his feet out in timeThink Pickford should have done better for the goal watching the replay. He could have just stood up and reached it rather than diving.
If he was off by the VAR metric, then so be it. That barge in the back, however, was a clear penalty...Kind of saved by VAR as well. Draw was fair.
When you lead for about 80 mins, it's the latter and frustrating - especially with a weird OG. But it's not a bad result either, and it was a good week.Taking into account Brighton are currently one of the better sides in the upper half and Everton's major lack of possession in that game would this be considered one point gained or two points dropped?
I'll take it, you didn't understand the reason for my post and leave it at that. How many teams won trophies yesterday?
City played brilliantly yesterday and won handsomely. I imagine they must have got one.
Jesus wept.
we had a plan and it almost worked, an awful lot of their 80% possession was passing it around their back 4 looking for an opening and our structure was tight and disciplined, there weren't many openings. Their possession was passive and ineffective. Their main outlet was Mitoma and, controversially, Young defended against him really well and restricted him to very little. Their goal came from when Harrison was versus Mitoma and Mitoma got more space and got his cross in, Young and Pickford were unlucky. Brighton are a decent side, not a shabby point.1-1 with 2 days preparation to play against one of the most tightly drilled and technically accomplished teams in this league is a very good result.
Brighton will go away from home to give most of this league a battering.
Key word in your statement is 'Or'. Who knows how changes would have affected the result.Or to confirm a win.
