All hail @chicoazul, a tour de force of literary talent. He who hath a pen that is mightier than his pork sword.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

What????

He's a bad beaut who should be banned.

Never rated Naismith. Said Besic was going to Celtic.

Thats the truth.

As Chico mentioned, with our tough run of games coming up we are going to have to rest some of our first team players soon - we don't want to risk Barry looking as tired as Gerrard did today. The ones who probably need a break the most are Baines, Coleman, McCarthy and Barry as they have the most physically demanding roles and we'll need them fresh if we want to play well in the derby. Naismith might also need a break as he played all through preseason and has a tendency to run himself into the ground.

I'd love us to win the league cup so I'd choose this game to rest a lot of them although I doubt that martinez will make so many changes in one go.

I'm happy to rest players in the league cup. Honestly not that bothered about it. Yes, yes I know, shouldn't pass off any opportunity to win silverware and what not. But I'd be more than happy to take the league, FA Cup and Europa League all very seriously and use the league cup as an opportunity to rotate. It's obviously the least important of the 4.

This year I'd prioritise the league cup over the FA cup - I'm hoping that we'll do well in the Europa and the pressure of those games plus the run in for the league will give us a demanding fixture list Feb onwards.

All but the finals/semi finals of the League cup are over by Christmas and it would be fantastic if we knew we'd won both silverware and at worst another year in Europa by early March.

A win here and it will put us in a great position for the derby. At the pit first for once, relatively early in the season so not much pressure on us particularly if we go into it above them, and they are of course playing quite poorly.

I know best than to get too confident, but if not this time.....

For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

Psalms 18:2
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Naismith is the Lord. And he's rock.

I'd focus on getting the win against CP, not really worry about league cup vs. Swansea, and focus on getting the big emotional win at Anfield with the best lineup. COYB!
