One gripe I had today was the constant banging the head against the wall approach to corners.

We must have had about ten and every one of them was landed in areas where their big grocks at the back were favourite to deal with them.

We were crying out for a bit of variation at corners.

I thought that Pickford , Keane , Zouma and Digne were very good.
Gomes and Gana were excellent.
Voted for Gana myself.

I should point out that we've won three on the bounce and we haven't even played particularly well for large periods of any of those matches. When this group hits it's stride...I think we're in for a fun ride.

I cant even find much fault with Walcott. The service to him was awful.
Lookman was the standout at the end because he was able to get the delivery spot on. Our passing and crossing all day was terrible. And we were ponderous with the ball at our feet. The way to beat them is to shift the ball twice as quick as we were doing. I think Silva knows this, thank goodness.

Oddly enough, I thought Theo had come into the game in the ten minutes befire he was subbed off and was starting to run their tiring defenders ragged.

Bernard was the winger who didn't work all day. He should have been off at HT.

..it’s a fair point but they haven’t conceded a single goal from a set piece this season. I thought Keane in particular had a few half chances but didn’t quite attack the ball.

In the past we’d struggle to put that to bed. Palace were really good today with their setup, deep and compact and didn’t give us an ounce of space.

But 3 really positive subs all with attacking intent won the game

Thought we played well in spells, not perfect for 90 but when we we're applying pressure they couldn't handle it. Big turning point Pickford saving the pen which I thought was a clear pen.

Plenty of chances from corners but no real threat from either Keane or Zouma which needs sorting out.

Nice to see Lookma come on and look hungry for it rather than sulking. Hopefully play a part now.

We all know we’ll probably get nothing v Utd but this has to be the most confident we’ve rolled up against them for a while. I just pray we give them a good game at the very least; it’d crush momentum for us to go and roll over, Moyes style.

It’ll be easier to score against United than it was against Palace today.
